Chapter 3: Drip

As the doctor was just eating his first meal of the day in peace , the school is very busy on the other hand.

The classes have already started and the group of young adults was either in class or in the auditorium undergoing a student conference.

The students appear to be in high spirits , as they have just join an institution and exited for what to happen next.

Among those students ,on the other hand , was quiet eye catching in relativity. It's a young woman wearing a shirt and pants and carrying a bag that hold her item and peripherals. She have a slightly small build and a pale complexion, but the feature that calls most attention is her face.

Her eye have deep dark circle as an eye bag, her cheeks sunken and pale, and her attention always in daze. She appear to be sick.

"Are you okay?" asked Julia to her fried Marissa

" I'm fine." answered Marissa in a slightly horse voice

" You doesn't look fine to me, want me to bring you the hospital?" stated Julia with a concerned tone

" No need , I have just been unable to sleep for a few nights, Im too exited for the university , it made me insomniac a little bit. A good sleep will surely make it away" * cough* *cough*"Don't worry , I will make my way to the clinic after this conference, I'm sure they have beds there for me to sleep on" She replied with while coughing from time to time.

That is all she said to her friend , but that's not all the truth infact it cannot be further from the truth.

She is a student that have came from a rural town on the province she have graduate on her old Scholl with highest honor , and that why she tried to take the entrance exam for Urban Science University and she pass with flying colors having be able to be third over all.

She knows that if she wants to succeed in the field ,she needs to go to a prestigious university to have her studies. Lucky for her , the university offer a scholarship for excellent students around the country , and her great achievement background made her eligible for the position.

She went to the city M a month before the start of school year to find an apartment and to familiarized herself to the city life.

She found a apartment with a good situation and a clean environment, but most importantly , it was dirt cheap.

As her upbringing , finding out the rent will be so cheap , she immediately decided to take it and payed 6 months advance .

It only taken her a week to transfer her things and redecorate the flat to an habitable abode.

Afterwards she focus on making friends and learning about the city and the university , she usually came home late at night and go to sleep pretty instantly.

She was living peacefully for a couple of weeks when a certain incident happen. A certain night on while she is relaxing on her bed she heard a strange sobbing sound. It's a subtle sound and almost imperceptible. The sound resonates on each wall of the flat making it hard to pinpoint where it came from.

Maybe because of she haven't been adjusted yet , of maybe she is usually really tired, but this is the first time she heard it.

At first she doesn't made herd of this irregularities, but as the time goes by more and more strange incidents happen. Doors on the restroom screeching and slamming down on the middle of the night, faucet water changing color while she use it, sinister sound of laughter and sobbing was being heard alternating every night. A pale whit face appearing for a split second when she look on the mirror.

As this incidents get more and more radical, she begin to get scared , she can't sleep anymore for a horrifying nightmare awaits her when she shuts her eye.

She tried to call the landlord but there is no one answering on the other side.

She started to feel sick and weak. it's been only been more than a week but her body appear to be sick for months. She tried to eat more often and take vitamins and supplements to regain some of the energy she lost every day but it did not help at all, she is still waning like a light of the moon.

But after all of this happened, she still persist to do her task. She take the tour around the campus, she attended the orientation ,and come to class on time.

She tried to convince herself that maybe she's just adjusting on the environment and it will get better as she allow herself to establish habits and familiarity. But deep insides ,she knows that a shade of death is slowly sucking her life out of her and sooner or later it will suck everything leaving her a husk of an empty body.
