Chapter 55: Hilda's Deep Secrets

"Mrs. Browns..." Erland was frozen, standing by the door along with Mrs. Browns. He then invited her to have a chat with him. In the living room, where Randi was enjoying her occasional glass of wine, Erland and Mrs. Brown were conversing about the forgotten topic of a girl named Astrid.

"Has everything been going well, Mrs. Browns?" said Erland.

"You have my gratitude for asking. I have been well enough I would say." said Mrs. Browns.

"You look more relaxed than before. Would you be kind enough to explain if something has happened? The more we know, the merrier."

"It's just that, I feel like I have been away from the guilt. I am happy now. I have finally found a home. I will live here forever." Mrs. Browns smiled for the first time. "You will accept me, won't you?"

Erland gave a polite smile. "Um...(I don't think that she should be accepted just like that. We still don't know enough about her. Come to think of it...) May I ask you something?"
