CHAPTER 52: AWAKENING

Damon kissed her forehead

His eyes were filled with adoration. He caressed her hair and held her close to him

"I love you" Damon murmured

He fell asleep with a smile on his face

Jia soon succumbed to the power of sleep

HOURS LATER

Jia rubbed her eyes and stared at the notification with a surprised look

Jia had no time to ask questions as she was immediately put in a suspended animation state

She appeared to be inside an egg-like structure made of dark golden light

The egg began to suck in spiritual energy and qi at a rapid pace

It almost sucked in Damon but he woke up

He stared at the egg with a complicated expression

The rain started to fall outside from a reddish-purple cloud

Damon started to channel his demonic energy to the egg

The egg happily absorbed the energy

Damon continued to channel the energy with an unfazed look

After a while, the egg started to rotate at a high speed

The speed distorted the gravity making Damon almost lose his footing

The egg started to crack slowly revealing Jia

She appeared to be asleep but her aura was much stronger

A demonic air surrounded her like a mini whirlwind

Damon gingerly picked her up but the energy surrounding her pierced through his hand making blood spill out

"Girl, I'm just trying to be nice," Damon said exasperatedly

His divine soul started to stir excitedly but Damon calmed it down

After two days, Jia woke up with a lazy yawn

Damon sat by her throughout the whole two days

He noticed when she stirred

The system announced

Jia's head was spinning like crazy

She thought about the divine soul expecting to see it but it didn't work

"System?" Jia asked confused

Jia nodded

"Dracarys" Jia said boldly

A dragon that was slightly taller than she roared. It was a dragon with two colors. Half of it was white, half of it was black

Then it started to act cute. It stared at her excited

Jia returned the dragon

"What can that dragon do anyway? It doesn't look strong " Jia asked the system

As the dragon gets stronger, It will be able to neutralize law power

You can level it up] The system said imparting a technique in Jia's head

Jia started to laugh like a maniac

Damon stared at her with a worried look

"Jia?! Are you okay? What's going on?!" Damon asked concerned

Damon continued to send Demonic energy to her which she absorbed

"I'm fine" Jia finally replied with a giggle

"I thought something went wrong," Damon said scooping her into a hug

"I like your dragon. It's cool" Damon commented with a grin

Damon kissed her forehead with his eyes closed

"I have awakened the demonic bloodline. What do you demons do." Jia said feeling the short horn on her head

"Oh, that was my fault. The egg kept on absorbing all the energy. As you know, there has to be enough energy for the process to go well" Damon said smiling sheepishly

"I don't have a problem with being a demon," Jia said with a subtle wink

"Are you half demon?" Jia suddenly asked

"Yes. I just don't know my other bloodline" Damon replied honestly

"System, can you do that for me?" Jia asked

[Yes. The host will have to make contact with him] The system replied

Jia held Damon's hand tightly

"Can you stay still for a while?" Jia asked Damon

Damon nodded

[Scanning.........

Scan completed

A faint trace of Horik's bloodline detected]The system analyzed

"You have faint traces of the Horik bloodline," Jia told Damon

He stared at her confused at first

His face morphed from confusion to fear

"Is everything alright?" asked Jiaa

Damon inhaled deeply

"He exterminated all the Horik species in Xiu Liu," Damon said muttering some incoherent words

"Who? What is Xiu Liu?" Jia asked frowning

"Lord father. I never expected to have Horik's bloodline. Xiu Liu is the place where we Demons live. It's in another dimension" Damon answered with disappointment

"It's okay. I'll accept you for whoever you are" Jia said with a bright smile

"Thank you," Damon said stroking her hair
