Sarutobi was met by Tsunade and Jiraiya's enthusiastic greetings as they emerged. Orochimaru followed suit.

Amiable conversation flowed between Sarutobi and his former students. Watching Tsunade's spirited demeanor through the window of the Hokage's office, Tobirama couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern.

Hashirama, too, was now dead. With only Tsunade and Nawaki remaining, and given Sarutobi's assurance of Orochimaru's strength, Tobirama was still somewhat uneasy.

Simultaneously, he contemplated the idea of having Tsunade attempt to awaken the Wood Release.

As for himself, as Hokage, he deemed his strength sufficient, yet he remained averse to reckless risk-taking.

"Alright then, we must make our way too. The Second Kazekage's mastery of human puppet and Jinchuriki is quite the spectacle."

Tobirama casually glanced at the massive Hokage Rock before vanishing into thin air, his footsteps lost to space.

"Speaking of Jinchuriki, the Uzumaki's sealing arts are impeccable. Mito-sama can surely safeguard the village during this time..."

"Orochimaru, we meet again."

Two contemporaries confronted the Sannin. One, Kato Dan, wore a warm smile; the other, Sakumo Hatake, bore a stern countenance and an air of detachment.

"The pleasure is mutual."

Orochimaru's icy smile remained intact. Little did he expect these two to venture into battle. Could it be due to the Sannin's participation?

Danzo seemed to have cast aside Hiruko, or perhaps others had long forgotten him.

For Orochimaru, Danzo made a more suitable ally, his utter lack of bottom lines rendering him an effective ally. As for his teacher, he deemed Sarutobi a ideal ninja model. Ironically, both had eventually distanced themselves from their mentors, just as Orochimaru had done.

"Is this the Senju clan's princess, Miss Tsunade? The Chunin Exam champion truly deserved her victory!"

Kato's smile faltered briefly, replaced swiftly by a perfect grin.

"Heh, it seems they have a purpose in detaining us."

Orochimaru's gaze settled on Danzo, Sarutobi's companion in laughter and discussion, and the vacant-eyed Mr. Gen. It would be a while before they departed. The situation appeared enigmatic.

Uchiha Kagami had already returned to the clan, deeply pensive.

"Danzo doesn't act without reason."

Orochimaru, eyeing Kato Dan basking in sunlight, Jiraiya's vexation, and Tsunade's perplexity, muttered lowly.

Hatake Sakumo's focus finally shifted to Orochimaru, devoid of provocation this time, instead radiating a resolute intent. The person before him was no longer within his reach.

Orochimaru returned his intense gaze with a measure of admiration, nodding slightly. Though words were scarce, the atmosphere between them was telling.

Danzo, amidst his exchange with Sarutobi, remained watchful from the corner of his eye. Similarly, Dan Kato and the impassive Sakumo Hatake discreetly departed, leaving a lingering air.

"Sarutobi, on the battlefield, let's show Sensei our prowess." Danzo, too, withdrew with his companions.

"Perhaps ending this war promptly is more important.."

Sarubi lowered himself, placing his hands on Jiraiya and Orochimaru's shoulders, and mused softly.
