School Battle: Hoya vs. Fraskia (1)

The next day I was in my room with Saito, helping her do her daily system checks. I looked at the computers and watched the progress bars.

"Hisumi, can I ask you a question?" Saito asked as she sat in the chair, hooked up on her computers.

"Yeah, what's up?" I looked at her.

"Do you think I'm weird? I mean...I have two different personas and minds. My human side and my cyber side that I mostly use. Do you think that's strange?" Saito asked.

I walked behind Saito and gently rubbed her shoulders. "I mean it's the first time I've seen someone with two different minds, but it isn't too strange.."

Saito looked ahead and sat back in her chair. She relaxed her shoulders and watched the progress bars. "I've had trouble being friends with people here and even then it's hard for me to communicate with my band. I hate my human side because it's not even useful...My cyber side is much more useful despite it not even being its own person. My cyber side talks in second and third person because it refers to only my human side, it's confusing but.."

"Don't worry. I understand, Saito." I smiled then noticed the process was completed then unplugged her from the computer then smiled at her.

She stood up and looked at me then looked away, blushing a bit.

"You're blushing. Didn't know you were capable of it." I teased and chuckled softly.

"I'm not blushing, my circuits must be overheating." Saito hurried out of the room.

I smiled the followed her and met up with Kikyo and Yumeji. We all looked at each other then nodded. We made our way to the academy. There were students outside cheering since today was the school battle against St. Hoya Academy. I looked at Orishi and she walked to me then held my shoulders.

"This would be your first time doing this, so I want you to do your best. Alright?" Orishi asked.

I nodded and smiled then Orishi let go of me.

"Hisumi!" Orika hurried over to me.

I looked at Orika and smiled then poked her forehead. "I know you'll be cheering the loudest."

"Mhm! You'll hear me from across the land." Orika smiled and blushed a bit.

I closed my eyes, smiling then followed the others to the battleship. "I better."

Orika watched me and held her hands behind her back. She smiled as she watched us enter the battleship. The doors closed and the battleship hovered in the sky then took off.

I looked out of the window and smiled then looked ahead then noticed Saito in rest mode, conserving her energy. Kikyo and Yumeji were chatting as per usual. Liao Ru looked out of the window as well and was in deep thought. I noticed her thinking hard and decided to get up and go over to sit next to her.

"Hey Liao...are you okay?" I asked.

Liao looked at me then looked down. "I'm okay.."

"You sure? You seem to be thinking hard.." I said then she looked at me and smiled.

She shook her head. "Promise...I am okay."

I looked at her then nodded and smiled. "Alright, but if you need anything I'm here."

Liao Ru nodded and went back to looking out the window. I looked around once again then noticed Misao cleaning her sword. She closed her eyes and looked as if she was mentally preparing herself for the battle.

"Yan Mei." A woman said then walked toward her.

Yan Mei stopped meditating and opened her eyes. "Is it that time Mae?"

"They are here." Mae answered.

Yan Mei nodded then stood up and followed Mae out of the dojo.

"Okay! Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Girls! The official School Battle between St. Hoya and St. Fraskia will be taking place here at the St. Hoya Stadium! I hope you're ready for some spectacular battles because this one is about to be legendary!" The announcer said and the crowd cheered loudly. "On our right side, we have St. Fraskia's Valkyrias and their leader Liao Ru! On the left side we have our St. Hoya's Martial Artists and their leader Yan Mei!"

The crowd cheered loudly and Yan Mei took stood up. The crowd went silent and the attention was on Yan Mei.

"I declare my first match...be against the Newest Valkyria!" Yan Mei called out.

Kikyo and the others looked at me. I looked at Yan Mei then crossed my arms. I closed my eyes then smirked.

"Alright. That's fine by me." I said.

"Hold on now, Yan Mei definitely isn't someone you can just take on. The only one who's been able to match her is Liao Ru." Kikyo said.

"Come on. What's the harm in trying? I'll be more than happy to take her on." I said then got up then hurried to the battleground.

"She's gonna lose." Yumeji said.

"Yep." Saito nodded.

I walked onto the battlefield and watched Yan Mei walk on the battlefield as well. I was confident in myself and looked at her.

"The first battle is against Yan Mei and the newcomer, Hisumi Ishida!" The announcer said.

The referee looked at us. "The rules are simple. The battle ends when one is unable to battle. The winner gets one point for their team. You need 3 points to win."

I nodded and tried to catch a feel for Yan Mei. She had a very calm look on her face, much like Saito except she doesn't seem void of emotions like Saito is mostly.

"You may begin the battle!" The referee said then vanished.

I summoned my sword then my battlesuit appeared on my body then I dashed towards her. I slashed at her, but she perfectly dodged it. I looked surprised then she palmed my stomach, blowing me away then appeared in front of me. I opened my eyes and looked shocked then dodged her attack. I stumbled back and wiped my lips.

"Alright what the hell was that..?" I asked myself.

Yan Mei placed one hand behind her back and her light blue eyes shined. Her dark blue hair flowed in the wind and she just watched me. I looked at her then dashed towards her then vanished. I appeared in the sky then slashed down with bolts of lightning following behind me. She dodged my slash and the bolts of lightning perfectly. I glared at her then vanished and appeared behind her. I slashed in a circle and she dodged that attack as well.

"How is she dodging all of my attacks..?!" I asked myself in a slightly frustrated tone.

"It seems like Hisumi isn't able to land a singular strike on Yan Mei! How will she be able to win this fight?!" The announcer yelled.

"Yan Mei is just too...clear minded. She's able to just know when and where Hisumi is going to strike. This is just a free point for St. Hoya. This bastard knew Hisumi wouldn't be able to to figure her out." Yumeji growled.

I grunted as I rolled on my side then rebounded off the ground and back to my feet. I glared at Yan Mei then bellowed and my lightning energy surged around my body. "If she's that fast then I have to be faster..!"

I yelled then the air exploded as I launched myself towards Yan Mei with a powerful kick in lightning speeds. She dodged me easily, but I landed on the ground and went for another kick then she dodged once more. She kept dodging all of my strikes, allowing me to tire myself out. I stopped and panted to catch my breath. She turned around then palmed my stomach, releasing a wave like force from her hand. I groaned loudly as I was sent crashing into the wall of the stadium.

The crowd cheered and I slid down the wall and my hair covered my eyes. Orishi looked at me and crossed her arms.

"Is this the end for Hisumi?!" The announcer asked.

Yan Mei walked away. "Call it. There's no point in making her suffer any longer."

I looked at Yan Mei and imagined Yusa walking away. "Don't walk away from me..." I said to myself and slowly stood up.

Saito's eye beeped and Orishi looked at her. "This boost is different from her Fell Energy..."

Orishi looked at me and smirked. "Her willpower."

"Don't walk away from me!" I yelled and my lightning energy surged powerfully around my body. The sound of thunder boomed loudly.

Yumeji jumped a bit and grabbed Kikyo's hand, quickly. Kikyo looked at their hands and blushed a bit then looked back at me.

Yan Mei stopped walking then looked back at me. "It doesn't matter how much you power up. You can't beat me. Save yourself the embarrassment. You're a good fighter, but you'll never be as good as me."

I glared at her then exhaled then my lightning turned light blue. I yelled and discharged powerful electricity from my body. Yan Mei noticed my bolts striking the walls then an explosion happened. Smoke covered the entire area.

"Obstructing her vision could work...but she still has the best instincts. She can fight with her eyes closed and can dodge attacks perfectly." Misao said.

I dashed around the area in the smoke. I went for multiple strikes from all direction, but Yan Mei dodged each strike then her aura surged and she inhaled then exhaled. She parried my next attack then punched my face and sent me flying backwards. The smoke cleared and I was hit with ten more strikes then my energy disappeared and fell on my knees then fell on my side.

"Hisumi Ishida is unable to battle! One point goes to St. Hoya Academy!" The referee called out then the crowd cheered loudly.

"Even though I knew she didn't have a chance, when she taps into her Willpower she does get even stronger. She's impressive, but it was a one sided match." Misao said.

Liao Ru looked at Yan Mei and glared. "Easy win...not honor..!"

"Liao Ru is fired up now.." Kikyo said then watched Orishi go to the battleground and help me up. "This might be the hardest School Battle we've had this year.."
