Chapter 42 –  Protecting the King

"—  How many lives were taken in this place" Krinia was speechless as she saw the scene that was before her eyes, trying to imagine how much blood is needed to accomplish this feat and how many lives were sacrificed to provide this amount of liters of blood, Krnia accompanied through his two companions they entered the large lawn that was as big as a football stadium.

Stepping on the lawn of blood, the three adventurers began to look for evidence of what had happened in that place, they found only battle marks and traces of magical beasts.

"—you found something" Krinia spoke to her companions hoping they would have more luck but she would be disappointed.

"—no, nothing here tells us why this place turned into a bloody Field" Samuel replied

"—I didn't find anything either" Zik said, the three began to think of many possibilities for what happened here, but with so few clues not even the brightest mind in the world can accurately theorize what happened in this blood-soaked field.

"—what do you think happened here? Krinia spoke trying to get an idea of ​​what happened here, listening to the theories of her colleagues

"—I don't know, someone fought here and died" Samuel answered Krinia's question but ended up contributing little or nothing to the discussion

"—it is evident that a great battle took place here, but the absence of corpses or any part of corpses is indeed intriguing, a battle of this scale should have the corpses of thousands of beasts scattered all around, with that in mind I believe the corpses were devoured by champion of contention" With good reasoning Zik was able to get very close to the truth, but who would be able to assume that a basilisk, a mythical beast would use a single combat skill to acquire a high quality of points for a system miraculous.

"—this may be true, but why do this?, I know that meat from magical beasts is rich in mana and can help in cultivation but this help is minimal and wears off over time, consuming thousands of magical beasts would be useless" Samuel presented his opinion.

"—this is really weird, but since our clues are gone, let's go back and report what we found" Krinia spoke up wishing to end this mission as soon as possible as her only interest in it is the reward.

agree with Krinia and started to leave here without looking back.

So these three adventurers who came to fulfill a mission, left this place and returned to report what they discovered.

What they didn't notice is that as soon as they turned around two unknown creatures entered the bloody field, they were two huge snakes over 10 meters long and emitted the aura of a magical grand master, one of them was red with robust and thick scales like heavy armor, and it also had two black horns that protruded from the sides of the head and curved toward the forehead.

The other snake was white, its scales were smooth and thin, its eyes were golden, at the tip of its tail it had a pointed structure that was apparently made of some kind of crystal, the two snakes followed in the same direction in which André was sleeping.

Before long these two huge serpents were in front of the entrance to the cave where Andrew but did not enter and stood guard at the front in an attempt to protect the place from anyone trying to approach the place where their king rests.
