Lian Manman was startled by the scream and had no idea what had happened. In a rush, she lifted the door curtain and ran into the house. Inside, chaos reigned. Song Hailong stood by the table, cradling a faintly breathing Lian Huahua in his arms. A chair lay overturned at his feet, alongside a soup basin. The soup had spilled onto the floor and was still emitting steam. Lian Yeye was standing there, stunned, with a serving tray in one hand and tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Huahua, Huahua, are you alright?" Song Hailong called out anxiously.
Lady Gu and Lady Chiang also gathered around Lian Huahua, bombarding her with questions.
"I, I'm fine." Lian Huahua slowly straightened up. Though they were betrothed, being held like this by Song Hailong in front of others was unseemly. She furrowed her brow slightly, seeming to be bravely enduring the pain. "Brother Hailong, are you hurt?"
