Reborn As A Human

About three things I was definitely positive about. First I shouldn't have fallen in love with a human. Second, I shouldn't have given up my position as the guardian of the sky for him. And third, I shouldn't have gotten involved when I found out my human lover was the heir to the throne of the wizard Kingdom.

Chapter 7

WRITER'S POV

Rafael immediately walked to the cell where Gwen was being held and asked the guards around to leave so he could question her privately.

"You said something about him being accompanied by someone?" Rafael asked Gwen, who was bound by chains on both hands and feet.

"Yes, do you think I won't be able to handle a person who just found out he could use magic?" She snapped.

"I did not say I don't believe you; what did she look like?" Rafael asked, biting his fingers like he feared her response.

"She had platinum hair, and her eyes were too glittery and blue; she looked like a real human woman till the moment she started to glow." " Her....." Gwen cried, her eyes tearing up.

"It's exactly as I feared." He already has a guardian beside him; I don't know how that's possible," Rafael replied, turning to leave.

"Why do you want to kill him?" Gwen yelled in despair, and Rafael raced back in.

"How dare you yell that?" Rafael spoke fiercely; he walked close to her and took her throat in his hands.

"You are to obey my commands and not ask foolish questions," he said, tightening his grip, and Gwen gasped for air.

He let go and walked around the room for a bit. He cleaned a few cobwebs off candle sticks until he got to the door.

"I'll speak to the Queen; you'll be released shortly," he added, then disappeared into the hallway.

JADEN'S POV

Nothing made any sense to me as I sat in my chair at the office; I couldn't figure out why the coffee shop lady wanted to forget about everything.

In fact, I couldn't even handle the fact that wizards are real and I'm one of them.

It's all mental.

"Good morning, Jaden," Aaron greeted. He was standing before my desk with both hands placed on it.

"While you were on vacation yesterday, we found something regarding that lady's death," he added, and I moved my seat closer.

"Talk"

"We finally got into her phone, and we saw texts from her boyfriend." He wasn't so smart after all; he was in such a hurry he didn't remember to take her phone, and we found it under her bed.

"Do you have the phone with you?" I asked; my brain was all over the place, and solving the murder case didn't matter to me anymore.

No offense.

I collected the phone from him and opened her messaging app. All other texts from him were deleted except for a more recent one, which I read aloud:

"You think you can just break up with me after all I've done for you?" "I will literally kill you if you don't open the freaking door to me," I ended up whispering at the last part.

I went straight to her call history, and there were no calls from him that night. "Who sends a text message when they're locked outside and desperately want to get in?" I asked.

"Maybe that's because she wasn't answering," Aaron replied.

"Yeah, he didn't even call once." I don't think he did it; we can't arrest him yet, but he's still a suspect. "Bring him in for interrogating," I yawned.

"Well, you guys need to find him first," Aaron replied, running his fingers through his hair, and I fell back onto my chair.

ROWENA'S/ELLE'S POV ( whatever you want to calll her but I'm going with Rowena)

I sat behind the counter, taking a break since the morning rush was over. A lot of people drink coffee in the morning, and I honestly don't see a reason why.

Tastes horrible.

"Hey, is anyone here?" I heard someone say and immediately stood up to attend to whoever it was.

"What can I get you?" I said sternly to his face that I hoped I wouldn't have to see  for a very long time, Jaden, clothed in an obviously expensive blue suit.

He kept silent.

"Excuse me, are you here to buy something?" I snapped my fingers and acted all impatient.

"Latte, please," he murmured, and I turned to make it. I looked around to see if my coworker Peter was in sight because I knew Jaden was going to try to talk to me about what happened.

"Here," I said, handing it over; he took it and stood for a few seconds.

"Listen, can we please talk?" He asked.

"About what?" "I'm working," I replied rudely.

"I won't take more than five minutes; I just have a few questions about that night," he pleaded.

"Then I have nothing to say to you," I say, returning to my chair.

"Can I at least know your name?" He begged, and I saw Peter's car wheel in. It'll be bad if he sees me being rude to a customer.

"I believe I have told you before, it's Elle. "Now please leave before you make me look bad," I said, and he left as Peter walked in immediately.

He gave me the knowing look—you know, the one you get when your friends catch you talking to your crush?

"It's nothing like that," I blurted out, which was totally unnecessary.

"Like what?" he teased.

"Nevermind," I said wryly, and returned to my seat.

"Girl, you should try the pancakes at the coffee shop a few blocks away," he continued.

"I don't think that's something you want the boss to hear," I replied, and we both laughed.

The Dragon Kingdom

WRITER'S POV

"It's me again," Rafael said gleefully as he walked into the cell. He had a bunch of keys in his hands, and Gwen smiled.

"Finally, I was starting to get hungry," Gwen said, and he unlocked the chains.

"I have an assignment for you, but let's go somewhere a little more private," he continued and began to walk away. Gwen hopped behind him happily until they got to his chamber.

"What can I do for you, master?" She asked.

He paces a bit, muttering a few words to himself.

"I'll need you to go back to Prince Jaden with someone this time." "Your twin sister, Georgia," he said.

She stared at him with a disgusted look on her face.

"Ew, you know I hate her," she cried.

"And I don't know why I should care about that," he replied curtly, his green hair glowing under the candles.

"I need you, both of you, to try talking him into following you here; make sure he isn't with the guardian. "Trick him into following you, and make sure the queen knows nothing about this," he ordered.

"How do we get him into the palace?" She asked.

"Leave that to me," he said with a mischievous smile.
