CHAPTER START---

Walking through the village, after the preliminaries Jin decided to stay within the sensing range of Naruto, while his clones practiced ninjutsu at the training field he had to personally ensure the next step of his plan wouldn't slip out of his grasp. Suddenly feeling Naruto's chakra flare-up he immediately ran over the rooftops toward Naruto.

'That chakra pulse had to of been HIM releasing the seal, finally the person I need the most is here!'

Arriving behind the womens' bathhouse Jin sees Naruto standing on the water in his boxers while Jiraiya himself supervises. Approaching the pair he is immediately spotted by Naruto.

"HEY JIN LOOK I CAN DO THIS NOW TOO!" The boy shouts while waving at Jin.

"Good job naruto, only 6 years late huh, keep practicing while I talk to your new friend," Jin says as he approaches the white-haired man.

'Damn he's tall, 6ft 4 inches maybe, jeez.'

"Hi there," Jin greets the man.

"Uh, hey kid. Can I help you?"

"Your chakra, who are you?"

"Why me, I'M THE LEGENDARY HERMIT SAGE OF MOUNT MYOBOKU, SANNIN JIRAIYA!" the man yells while striking a pose.

Immediately a large smile appears on Jin's face.

"THAT'S PERFECT!"

"Uh, it is?"

"Yeah, Orochimaru did something recently that's had me confused"

Immediately his words captured Jiraiya's full attention as the man narrowed his eyes to take a closer look at the young boy.

"What did he do exactly?"

"He left his chakra on someone and I absorbed it, it didn't do anything to me but I felt something. Something strange from it. Now I sense the same thing from you, but yours is stronger." Jin says, lying as naturally as he breathes. "I can barely feel it because my sensitivity to it is fading, what is it exactly, it felt strong"

'This kid, it should be impossible to sense senjutsu, even my dormant senjutsu. What the hell is he?'

"Tell me, how clearly are you able to feel it?" The sannin questions.

'Ok he's playing 20 questions'

"It's barely there like it was there or something," Jin says, trying his best to be vague.

"What's your name kid?"

"Jin Satsujin"

'So this is the brat sensei asked me to look into. But no matter how good a sensor he can't sense senjutsu. If Orochimaru hadn't left that seal none of this would have happened.'

"What exactly do you want to know about that strange chakra kid?"

"I'd like to know about it, maybe how to get it. I'm going to be Hokage which means I've gotta be able to protect everyone" Jin says in an excited tone.

'Well, his chakra control is supposed to be perfect right. A small test should do'

"Alright kid high five," Jiraiya says as he puts his hand forward.

'He coated his hand with chakra to make me stick, he's testing me'

Quickly giving a high five before deactivating his rinnegan, Jiraiya is surprised at how naturally Jin instantly adjusted to his chakra.

'Chakra hypersensitivity huh.'

"That trick looked fun but I knew your chakra was there"

"Yeah I realized, you knew. I knew another kid with perfect chakra control and the same red hair. But his eyes were strange. What do yours look like."

Before Jin could even react Jiraiya had removed his blindfold completely.

"Huh, normal brown eyes. Sorry about that, just had a hunch"

"Did you teach him how to use the strange chakra?" Jin asks while putting his blindfold back on.

"Hm, never got the chance."

"Well I'd like to learn"

"It's not really only up to me see, hell I'm still learning to use it myself."

"What do I have to do?"

"Honestly not sure they'd even agree to teach you with my input kid, gotta be a pretty special person for them to agree," Jiraiya says with a prideful smile on his face.

"Is being a descendant of the sage of six paths special enough?" Jin says making Jiraiya cough violently.

"WHAT?!"

"It's just a question"

"Well, if you could prove it I'm sure they'd agree"

"Can you promise to keep this between us? If you can give me your word, swear on your shinobi way, swear on you Nindo" Jin says in a completely serious tone.

'Hmm, I've got nothing to lose here so sure kid.'

"I swear on my Nindo to take this to my grave" Jiraiya solemnly says.

Slowly Jin removes his blindfold. To Jiraiya's complete shock, however, his brown eyes quickly shift from the pupils outward in a ripple into purple Rinnegan.

"Ach, ah-uh." Jiraiya is left speechless. 'FUCK! I should have discovered this without making that promise' he thinks to himself.

"Well, I've proved it right. Now can you show me?" Jin asks in a serious tone.

"Uh, alright kid, meet me in the east forest tomorrow. You should be able to find me since your a sensor. We'll go from there"

"Thank you, sensei" With a full bow Jin disappears from the bathhouse area.

'Damn, never thought I'd run into two pairs of those in one life'

---Later that night, Hokage's office...

Sitting in the window of his sensei's office, the legendary Jiraiya had a cup of sake in his hand as he recounted his recent adventures.

"Yeah those bandits never even saw me coming, reminds me of my genin days" Jiraiya joked.

"hahaha, back when I was still limber huh"

Suddenly a serious look overcame the sannin.

"I took a look at that kid you asked about"

"Oh, what did you find about Jin?"

"Nothing special, parents died during the nine tails attack. I think he knows about Naruto being the host." His words clearly startling his sensei.

"What makes you think that?"

"Between his skills as a sensor and his other talent, it's almost a guarantee. makes you wonder how kind a heart he has to still be friends with Naruto huh."

"What are you getting at Jiraiya, I'm too old for riddles," Hiruzen says as he puffs his pipe.

"He sensed my senjutsu"

*CLACK*

The pipe hits the table as Hiruzen's draw drops.

"That's impossible unless he is also a sa---"

"Nope, apparently he can absorb chakra and got some senjutsu from Orochimaru's mark when he subdued Sasuke. It gave him the temporary ability to sense it and he found me. Pretty lucky kid."

"Extraordinary, unfortunately, that can't go on his record."

"Yeah, Orochimaru targeting him might be worse than him focusing Sasuke. What do you think about the kid as a person?" Jiraiya takes a sip of his sake as he walks across to the bottle on the Hokage's desk.

"Well, he's always kind to his friends, he appears to want nothing but to protect the village. Kurenai always reports that he's ruthless on missions and tends to use his jutsu a bit too freely for her taste. But from what I've seen he has more than enough chakra. His water jutsu flooded multiple training grounds after all and he did somehow destroy Kunigakure."

"Yeah, I think I know how he did that, unfortunately, I swore on my Nindo to take it to my grave."

"If it poses a threat to the village..."

"I understand sensei. I wanted your opinion because well, he reminds me of someone. Someone I never got the chance to pass one of my teachings to. I'd rather not miss this chance."

"Are you sure about this Jiraiya?"

"You said he looks up to me right, and he's a good kid that just wants to be the Hokage and protect people. What better person can there be?"

Sigh, "Well nobody can stop you, but just be careful. He's still a child. Try not to forget that. If you discover anything you can tell me add it to a report, I want it before the next stage of the exam. Will you be in the village for that? With Orochimaru lurking around having you here could deter any plan he has."

"I can't make any promises but if this kid is half as talented as you say, I'll have to come to see him myself."
