Chapter 11 The First Step of Turning Point: Changing Classes Not Schools (2)

Ouyang's parents exchanged a glance and were instantly overcome with emotion. They knew all too well that their daughter cared deeply for them. She had truly grown up. Since that was the case, how could they let her sincere effort go to waste! So, with a smile, they replied in unison to Ouyang Xiasha, "Alright! We'll listen to Sasha!"

A single portion of soup was divided into three. Though the dishes on the table were still sparse on meat, all three felt that the meal was exceptionally delicious. Even years later, when Ouyang's parents recalled the transformative meal of their daughter, their faces would light up with contented smiles.

After dinner, Mother Ouyang cleaned up the dishes, and the family of three settled in the living room to discuss Ouyang Xiasha's transfer to another school.

"Sasha, what do you think about your current studies? Your mother and I feel that transferring you to First Elementary would be good, even if we have to tighten our belts a bit. After all, your homeroom Teacher Zhang really puts on airs and falls far short of being an exemplary educator. But we're also worried that with less than a month until the entrance exams for middle school, a sudden transfer might disrupt your adaptation to a new environment and your studies," Father Ouyang said earnestly as he looked at Ouyang Xiasha. This was a matter concerning his daughter's future, and he couldn't help but take it seriously.

Ouyang Xiasha glanced at her parents, thinking that she didn't really need to attend school; she could just go directly to the exams. However, her parents did not know she was a high-achieving student reborn and would definitely not agree to that. Moreover, the performance of students in exams had started to be linked to the teachers' bonuses at that time. How could she allow that "freak" Teacher Zhang to profit from her success, to benefit from her final good results? Her parents were unaware of her aversion to school, but she knew all too well. That "freak" Teacher Zhang was truly sadistic, enjoying the corporal punishment and mockery of students. Now, only those who were left studying well in her class had some family background that Teacher Zhang dared not provoke. For families like hers, with modest civil servant status, she didn't care at all, the words she spoke were far more stimulating than those spoken to her parents. All she needed to do now was to not give Teacher Zhang that advantage. If Teacher Zhang stayed away from her in the future, it was fine. After all, she was no saint with thoughts of fighting every injustice. If Teacher Zhang provoked her again, she wouldn't mind removing the harm for the people. With that in mind, Ouyang Xiasha cheerfully said to her parents, "Mom and Dad, there's no need to transfer schools! Just help me switch to any class, even the worst one is fine. I don't want my final achievement in the entrance exams to benefit Teacher Zhang in the slightest!"

"Sasha, think it over. If we do transfer you to another class, given Teacher Zhang's vengeful nature, it's very likely they will put you in the worst Class 8, or maybe even look for chances to make things difficult for you. Wouldn't it be better to transfer schools after all?" Mother Ouyang said a bit timidly, considering Teacher Zhang's character.

"Don't worry, Mom and Dad. You have to believe in your daughter. Remember, I have a brilliant mind inherited from my parents. I'm sure I'll have no problems. You just wait and see, at the entrance exams, your daughter will astonish everyone!" Ouyang Xiasha said cheerfully. She didn't bother to explain to her parents that what Teacher Zhang was doing could be reported since in that era, ninety percent of people didn't understand or know how to protect their interests by legal means, let alone use them. So it would be futile to explain to her parents. If Teacher Zhang did not provoke her, then everything would proceed smoothly. But if she did, she would not hesitate to take action.

"But..." Mother Ouyang wanted to say more but was interrupted by Father Ouyang.

"Honey, trust Sasha. Even if she doesn't do well in this entrance exam, we can make arrangements to transfer her to another middle school later!" Father Ouyang, looking at his daughter's laughing but resolute expression, couldn't explain why, but he just believed she could do it and said it with conviction. With that, she replied with a smile.

Father and daughter shared a smile at the sight of Mother Ouyang's reaction. With this, the first step in Ouyang Xiasha's transformation was decided—she would switch classes, not schools.
