A New Ruler

With King Harland defeated, it was time to ensure the future stability of the kingdom and secure our position. I turned to the mage, Arawn, my mind already formulating a plan to prevent any potential betrayal from Roderic, who would be the new ruler of the human kingdom.

"Arawn," I said quietly, "I need you to ensure Roderic's loyalty. Use your magic to bind him to our cause, to make sure he cannot turn against us."

Arawn nodded, understanding the necessity of such a measure. "I will do what must be done, Emily. We cannot afford any loose ends."

We found Roderic in the throne room, looking at the blood-stained throne that he would soon claim. His face was a mixture of awe and trepidation, aware of the immense responsibility that lay ahead.

"Roderic," I called out, and he turned to face us, his expression unreadable. "We need to ensure your loyalty to our cause. Arawn will cast a spell to bind you to our will, to prevent any possibility of betrayal."
