Mana grenade

A shocked expression appears on their face as they realize something obvious, they immediately close their eyes and concentrate. After a few seconds, small clouds start surrounding Elvashi and Livari, Dave is surprised to see this, he thinks, "It can't be, are they from the hidden village of Faradiya? Let's ask them once we finish."

The fairies open their eyes, Dave says, "Now that you can use your fairy arts, let's get some work over with." He then puts his hand in one of the dimension pouches laying on the floor and takes out a sword from it.

Dave then asks, "Elvashi, Livari have you learned any mana buffs yet?" both of the fairies nods, Elvashi says in a proud tone, "It is one of the basic arts that were taught to us, not only does it increase your mana recovery rate by ten times! But also help with mental fatigue recovery."

Dave says, "Good, good, then, how about buff that increases the mana density of an area?" Elvashi replies, "The buff's effect increases the mana density in an area by five times!"

Dave puts his finger on his chin and starts thinking. After a few seconds, he asks, "How much time does it take you to cast the buff again and how long does it last?" Elvashi says, "It lasts for 3 minutes and takes 5 minutes to recast." Dave sighs then says, "Okay, Livari cast a magic buff on me first." the timid fairy nods.

Dave holds the sword, he thinks, "The fire sword consumes 20 mana per second, telekinesis should require around 40 mana per second and the buff helps me regain 150 mana per second looks like there's no need to worry, let's start making that then."

Dave puts his hand in another dimension pouch and takes out a jar of the black stuff, he also takes out an iron sword and a bone dagger. He then puts the iron sword on the fire sword and waits for it to melt, it melts a bit after a few minutes. Dave then manipulates the molten iron into the shape of a small ping pong ball size hollow pyramid with the tip part open and then puts the fire sword down. He then opens the jar with telekinesis and manipulates some of the stuff into the pyramid through the opening. After the stuff is settled nicely and flat Davide closes the tip.

Dave then chants some words and the pyramid gets covered in a glowing translucent glow. He picks up the bone dagger and engraves some runes onto the glow.

After completing the runes, the glow fades, and a layer forms and sticks to the pyramid. The runes fade into the layer. The pyramid drops into Dave's hand, he flips his hand and shakes it, but strangely, the pyramid doesn't fall down. Then suddenly it detaches from his hand and he catches it with the other. He thinks, "Yes! A great success! Didn't think I'd get it on my first try."

Dave then telepathically asks the two gnomes and fairies, "Do you have any Idea of what I have just created?"

the four of them shake their heads. He smiles and then says, "Elvashi, come here and touch the pyramid."

The little fairy flies over and puts her hands on the pyramid. Dave then says, "Try releasing your mana now."

Small clouds start gathering again, but instead of floating near Elvashi, they get sucked into the pyramid. She panics and tries to pull her hands away but they don't budge, it's as if they were stuck to the pyramid by super glue.

Dave says, "Calm down and stop your mana flow." Elvashi stops her mana flow and her hands get freed. She immediately flies away from the pyramid and goes near her sister, Dave smirks and says, "This is a very useful item" he then twists the tip part, and the runes re-emerge and align themselves. Dave creates a telekinetic barrier around the pyramid and lifts it, the rune letters start glowing one by one rapidly and when the final letter glows, the whole pyramid lights up and bursts outward, and then collapses inward.

Both the fairies and gnomes are left in awe... Dave grins while looking at their expressions and says, "It's called a mana grenade, the logic behind it is quite simple. The black substance over there is extremely mana depraved, but it's not potent enough so that it could directly absorb mana from the air around us, so if someone uses mana near it, it will try to suck as much mana from them as possible. Place a simple barrier in front of it and it will keep sucking out mana, when more than the required amount of mana is stored lift the barrier. It will try to swallow up all the mana but, like too much air filled into a balloon makes it pop, the substance will also disintegrate and explode but the remaining mana will try to pull it back together so the substance will collapse and then just disappear, just like a black hole."

The fairies shake their heads but the gnomes just keep looking at Dave, in utter confusion. Dave sighs and thinks, "I expected too much, let's evolve them first." He asks the gnomes, "Do you know how to use mana?" the gnomes nod in agreement, he then asks, "Show me some of the magic that you know."

The both of them remain silent, a vein pops up on Dave's forehead and he sighs. He asks while releasing killing intent, "Do you know anything of use?" The gnomes feel an overwhelming fear of death and start looking around, one of them sees the molten sword and the flame sword.

An idea enters his head and he picks it up. He then acts as if hammering it.

Dave raises an eyebrow and thinks, he then takes the flame sword out of the gnome's hand and pulls out two iron swords from the dimension pouch. He then says to Elvashi, "Cast the mana buff on me again." Dave then looks at both of the gnomes' hands and starts melting the swords. After they had been completely melted away, he manipulates them into the shape of two hammers and casts their handles so that they exactly fit the shapes of the gnomes' hands. Dave then covers them with some runes and hands them to the gnomes.

He then goes towards the tub and fills it up, he takes out two rings from his dimension pouch, then hands the gnomes the hammers and rings and says, "You are good at smithing right, these fire resistance rings will numb the pain. Is there anything else you need?" before they could say anything Dave says with killing intent, "Then you should get started right away, turn that molten sword into something useful." his killing intent intensifies.

The gnomes dismantle the sword and hurriedly go towards the tub, they then put their hands in the water and start chanting some stuff. While chanting they dip their hammers into the water a few times and at the end they also dip the blade in the water.

They then go near Dave who held the flame sword in his hand, but the killing intent hampered their steps severely. Dave says to them, "I will only kill you if you do a bad job, so hammer like your life depends on it." a crazy smile appears on his face.

chills run down the gnomes' spines, they patiently wait for the melted blade to get hot again as they hold it in their bare hands! while sweating buckets as they constantly face Dave's killing intent.
