Pei Jin had waken earlier, learning the preparation was complete he very gently wakes yusheng. If possible he wanted to let her sleep but they had to leave for the hunting ground.
Xiaoqing along with all the servants were all ready and at crown prince residence. As soon as Pei Jin exited the room the maids streamed inside to prepare her.
Yusheng was feeling half awake even after being fully prepared giving heartache to Pei Jin. Thus he doesn't force her to have breakfast rather carries her to his carriage for her to sleep more.
As they were engaged they sharing a carriage wouldn't pose a problem but rather show of their intimacy. After another hour Yusheng awakes, this time her mind on full alert.
The carriage was built very grandly with all the necessities. Drawers for keeping and storing things , benches that was broad and long enough to use as a bed, a recliner on the other side with tables on the middle and fur carpet below.
Pei Jin was reading a book in the recliner when Yusheng wakes up from her slumber. Leaving his book he goes to her side and helps her up. On the corner towels and water was left to warm.
He gently wipes her face, pours her a cup of water for her to drink. He liked doing this things for her, he hated all the maids and servants hovering around her gaining her attention.
They were second in the long row of carriages moving to the hunting ground. Tao was on the front with the driver while Yusheng's maid were behind on servants carriage.
Pei Jin then pours the tea and snacks for Yusheng to eat on. "Love.. its just to pad your stomach.. another hour and we will be stopping for breakfast" says Pei Jin feeling heartache for his beloved.
The manor had prepared some light breakfast but Yusheng was too sleepy to eat as it was at crack of the dawn they had left. Still he couldn't bare for her to eat just these snacks. Becoming unhappy he orders Tao on the front "Go and inform Fuhuang that we should stop soon.. traveling without a filled stomach isn't good for both of their health.. better we stop infront of the lulu river that we are quite near to"
Tao wanted to cry but had no tears. "Wangye you had me rather killed ah.. how can this mere servant utter advise to the holy one.." whatever his thoughts inside he still goes to the front to inform Feng Min. It seems he is more afraid of Pei Jin than the emperor.
Feng Min seeing tao with an ugly smile that seemed like wanting to cry feels pity for him and cooperatively passes the message to the royal couple who were also resting inside.
The royal couples after the message start to gossip "Hmmph.. act of caring.. it must be Sheng'er that is hungry but according to him it's us that are hungry... see your son is thoroughly henpecked even before marriage" snorts the emperor looking at his wife on the opposite side.
"So.. isn't this what a man supposed to do? Jin'er has heart to care.. what henpecked?.. it's love.. but obviously how would you know?... hmpph haven't asked for a cup of tea for me.. so uncaring you are.. don't go on blaming my son.. else provide another carriage for me"snorts empress.
Emperor feeling the fire on his way immediately gets up and rushes to empress side "hehe.. who.. who said henpecked?.. beloved wife.. it was a slip.. actually I wanted to say.. say.. like hen protecting its chick.. haha.. yeah that's it..
Wife here have some tea.. you must be feeling thirsty.. Jin'er has such an eye.. the river is right above.. we can enjoy breakfast by the river.. he is so filial ah..we will stop there then.. Feng Min we have the message passed" fawns the emperor singing different tune than earlier.
Seeing his wife's face turning better he pats his chest inside. While feng Min outside was trying his best not to laugh. All these years being with emperor he knew that emperor always had empress in his heart. Other women were like ornaments and baby machines, only for empress the emperor felt heartache, anxiety, care and love.
He was as henpecked as his son. But would he dare say that. Thus obliging he sends people to pass the message to all the people riding the carriages. Carriages with tools and stuff from departament of work rushed forward to set the tents.
