Getting more than bargained

After learning of the place Yusheng immediately urges Pei Jin to head towards valley of death. They decided to take horses rather than carriage to reach faster and also enjoy riding with only two of them.

Pei Jin felt it wasn't a urgent matter but still went along from seeing her excitement and curiosity to explore the place. But he made sure that both had their belly full before leaving on their small adventure. Zan and bai like normal followed their masters in shadows.

On their way while the couple were enjoying there moments Zan felt like walking through cold mountains by Bai on his side. He tries to intimate some chats but was rebuffed with silence. Finally unable to continue on with this cold silence "Bai..congrats ah.. being married and all.. luck you." Says Bai.

"Are you spying on us?"was his reply. "No..no..senior zhu geng and I were just having chats and he seemed very happy for you..nothing of sort.. well I think with our masters union..we too as servants also maintain certain level of cooperation among us..you know.." hurriedly replies Zan.

"I think we are good..and you are talking too much for a shadow guard.." replies bai shutting further conversation. Feeling like having eaten lemon Zan's face was soured but was finally silenced.

Both Yusheng and Pei Jin though quite a distance from them had all heard. With a smirk Pei Jin says "hmm.. good..much better than mine.." while Yusheng shakes her head "I don't think so...he is too isolated.. I sometimes wonder how he is with xiaoqing...I think he should be more lively like yours.."

Finally they reached on the entrance which had a tall stone carved with its name and caution to not enter. All the parties calmly entered the rumored valley. Tall trees, wild bushes and flowers with dead leaves welcomes them further. They could also hear the chirping of birds and sound of other insects found in the wild.

They decide to enter the deeper parts where the possibility of finding the beasts were higher. Entering deep they could finally hear and feel the presence of animals and also increasing temperature. Yusheng could feel the temperature seemed more hotter in particular direction.

They headed towards the direction and were welcomed with mist and it was getting more thicker and hotter inside. It was very abnormal for a place to have such condition thus all four became alert and had enveloped their Qi in their entire body while also opening their mental consciousness.

Finally they reached to the foot of small mountain and were suprised to find that it was surrounded by hot springs but the water was definetly not friendly to take a dip from the way it was bubbling.

Looking closely rather than mountain it was a volcano which seemed to have been dormant for decades but the heat coming from the entrance indicated a different story. At this point everyone was very curious and alert. Having reached this far they decide to explore the inside of the mountain.

They unmount from their horses and decide to travel on their feet's. With each step the hotter it became and they soon reached infront of a big hole. The heat and steam coming from the hole was very high and all of them were unsure about proceeding as what lay down was unknown.

But Yusheng could feel they will find something interesting down below so did Pei Jin. Without thinking further she orders both shadow guards to remain here while they find out what was below.

Both of them jump through the hole though the air was hot enough to crisp anyone but the two were fine. They could also see red light at the end of the tunnel finally reaching the ground they were very suprised.

There were magma pools all over the ground from small to medium. The bubbling magma and the heat it emitted was not something to be taken lightly. At the end of the path they found another hole which for sure had something very dangerous most likely a beast as the qi concentration was very high.

Rather than worried Yusheng was excited "Jin..I think we have found treasure..luck is on your side.. definetly a beast close to a divinity or is already divine.." Pei Jin smiles and feels helpless looking at Yusheng who was curious like a baby and very excited "Umm..with you i am always lucky.."

Yusheng feels warm but snorts "okay..no need to flirt with me..come on let's find out what it is.. oh and after we subdue it..I will send you to my inter spatial ring.. inside is a cave with beast art on the walls where once I had trained with bao..while to train I will try and find other beast suitable for Pei Zhang.."

Pei Jin doesn't give definitive answer as he didn't want for her to be alone and replies vaguely "hmm.. let's see then we will decide later.." both of them use flash steps and reach to the entrance of the hole.. the denseness of qi was very high along with some sort of noise coming.. the dense Qi was powerful enough to jam up their mental consciousness making them unable to see what laid inside.
