Chapter 64 : Why am I coming with you!?

Nectar blinked several times as she entered her courtyard. She wore a simple sleeveless white dress with black roses scattered around it and elbow length black gloves. Though the skirt was puffy, it was detachable and was actually like a jumpsuit, one of her many designs.

She matched it with a black coat and fur boots. She also had on white gloves to cover her braised knuckles. Liam who was already overseeing the mana stones walked up to her, " Nice to see you finally up ".

Nectar playfully rolled her eyes, " You'd just throw me in the bath again so why not ". Liam nodded and picked some of her hair, " You should have stayed upstairs, let me do your hair ".

Nectar sighed playfully, " It's fine Liam. Plus, I like my hair down when I'm busy ". Liam wasn't listening and soon packed her hair into a high ponytail, twisting and turning it he made an even more sophisticated ponytail, making it look like a beautiful knot.

Nectar smiled to herself when he finished, " You know I could just let it loose ". Liam nodded understandingly and smirked " Then I'll do it again and again and again till you get the message ". Nectar held her hair protectively, " How can you threaten me with my own hair "?

Liam chuckled, patting her nose " Then you best behave ". Nectar pouted, pinching and poking him. They started bickering again and didn't even notice who just came in.

Eros found it somewhat interesting to tease Nectar. She seemed to have so many expressions, he wanted to know where they ended.

But then again, she didn't seem as smitten with him as she did a few months ago [ So which one is the fake you? ] She'd nearly crippled him and ran away but then again she was a mystery.

Even after reinvestigating her, the same information came back. Second princess of the Actso Isles, not favoured by many and suddenly disappeared from the palace when she was eleven or twelve. Appeared again months before the wedding and here we are now.

He couldn't find specifics about power levels since Actsonians gauged strength more roughly, making it hard to use a Lishflourian scale and they liked to keep their strength a secret.

But Nectar was quite strong, though he was unsure whether her butler was. He couldn't control her shadow for a long time and knew he was only able to do so because he caught her unaware.

Then after she'd blatantly disregarded his words and told him to mind his business, she easily shook him off which was even stranger. Not many people could resist shadow magic.

It either meant their physical power was off the charts or their mental state was high but one would have had to go through quite a lot to be able to fight the corrosion of his shadow magic.

When she left, he thought she was only being headstrong and wouldn't be able to salvage the situation, realizing her mistake and begging for his help.

But instead, she'd somehow managed to save the miners while locating hundreds of century old mana stones.

So now he'd come to her palace mainly to take her with him to welcome the other countries envoys. He would still have preferred to bring Athena with him but there were some protocol he couldn't break.

It might even be considered disrespectful if either of them didn't show up. There was even word that the star reader would be attending the celebration and was already in the capital.

As he entered the courtyard, he saw servants sorting the mana stones, moving all over the place. But then he saw Nectar and her butler, they seemed to be arguing in each others faces. It was hard not to watch.

They didn't even seem to notice his presence till Dodwen cleared his throat. Nectar's features calmed instantly as she turned to him, almost as if frowning and curtseyed, " Greetings to the emperor, the first star in the dragon's domain ".

Eros waved it off and she stood straight, " I've already asked you to drop the formalities ". Nectar felt like she was going to barf [ Who do you think you are? Then have my head when I stop greeting properly ] but smiled all the same, " Is there something I can help you with your majesty ".

Eros sighed " The envoys will be waiting at the port. So I have to leave ". Nectar smiled eagerly [ You don't have to inform me,just leave me be ] " Then I wish your majesty good luck ". Eros couldn't help but raise an eyebrow [ Does she want to get rid of me so quickly? ] " You misunderstood, we're going together ".

Nectar frowned again, her voice slightly panicked as she pointed at herself, " What! why me "? Nectar seemed to get herself and calmed down after she said what she was thinking, " I mean I don't think I'd be able to represent. Are you sure you want me to go with you ?

Eros was surprised by her reaction [ That's different from what I expected ] but spoke calmly, " I think you'll be alright, let's go ". Eros turned and started walking out. Nectar panicked again " Right now "!?

Eros couldn't help but smirk and glanced at her, " Of course, I hope you don't mind the short notice empress ". Nectar clenched her fists tightly behind her , forcing her brow to stop twitching " Of course not, Let's go ".

Nectar suddenly grabbed Liam's wrist and marched forward, smiling at Eros, " I must thank his majesty for his faith in me. Let's not keep our guests waiting then ". [ Let's just get this other with and you can leave me alone ]
