Chapter 144 : Make a good memory.

Bonsi sighed as she looked at Nectar, " Forget it ". Nectar raised an eyebrow then suddenly shook her head, " For now ". She sighed as she gently grabbed the flower from Bonsi's palm. Bonsi was about to scold her for breaking the flower when Nectar covered it with her other hand.

Bonsi heard a slight crackling and Nectar held out the lotus with a proud smile, " Now you won't have to worry about me breaking it ". Bonsi reached out and touched it [ Feels cold ] " You froze it ".

Nectar shrugged, " I simply glazed it over a little. A protective covering of ice and frost to keep it looking fresh if you must ". Bonsi nodded, " You're a twisted one of a kind genius Nectar ". Nectar smiled [ I feel a little insulted though ] the confusion evident on her face, " Thank you "?

Bonsi shook her hands slightly, " What I meant was, you use your powers in a lot of unconventional ways I've never seen before. You're very creative with them ". Nectar smiled, " Thank you. I like finding ways to interest myself ".

[ I miss Pollen ] Nectar blinked in a daze [ Where did that come from? ] and clenched her fist behind her, mumbling to herself " Not the time or place Nectar ". She brought out the mana stone and held it out to Bonsi, " Since elves can't turn energy into raw mana, you can just inject some life essence into it ".

Bonsi nodded excitedly as she held the lotus, " What happens after that "? Nectar pointed at it with a smile, " You can talk to me whenever you want ". Bonsi raised an eyebrow suspiciously then brightened, " Is that why Archie always seems to be talking to himself "?

Nectar nodded, slightly guilty " I'm sure he was talking with my kids. I'm sure they didn't mean to worry you ". Bonsi nodded [ Should I remind her they're not actually her kids? ] and opened her mouth to speak when she heard a slight growl " Nectar Qudi Socta "!

Nectar threw back her head slightly and groaned in frustrating, " How did he find me so quickly "? Bonsi laughed, turning the lotus over in her hands, " Duke Soul seems very upset ".

Nectar sat properly and rolled her eyes, " The trip will be over soon anyways. Nice talking to you Bonsi ". Nectar patted Rampage's neck and whispered something into its ear. Bonsi watched Rampage bop her head [ It's almost like they can talk to each other ]

" I'll leave Rampage here for a while. She'll come back to the carriage by herself in a bit ". Bonsi frowned, obviously confused, " How are you going to get there without Rampage "?

Nectar winked, " I have my ways " and fazed away and disappeared. Bonsi jumped back then out again, " Did she fall "? Like three carriages forward she heard a laugh and saw a familiar hand waving back at her and she laughed nervously, putting her hand on her chest [ That bastard ] as she stumbled back into the carriage seat.

Archie woke up, still groggy as he rubbed his eyes " Are you okay mother? I thought I heard Sister Qidu's voice ". Bonsi laughed as she went on her knees next to him, " Yeah, she did and she just left a minute ago ".

Archie pouted slightly, " I wish I woke up sooner ". Bonsi ruffled his hair with a smile, " What would you like her to do for you "? Archie pursed his lips and shook his head, " Nothing " [ I'd get in trouble if I said window riding ]

" What were you talking about? You were both at it for a while ". Bonsi smiled as she hugged him closer to her and showed him the orange lotus Nectar made earlier, " She said you asked her to make this for me. Thank you ".

Archie laughed, feeling drowsy again " My super duper plan worked ". Bonsi leaned into the pillow fort, both now comfortable, " What plan did my baby demon come up with this time "? Archie turned to his side, still in her arms " This trip is turning out to be completely different from what I expected, in a good way ".

He played with her finger and looked up at her at with a toothy grin, " I have friends because of it. They're not just figments of my imagination anymore ". Bonsi stiffened slightly, a lump of tears choking her throat and she tried to speak. It only came out as a whisper, " I didn't realize that " [ I'm a terrible mother ]

Archie turned to his other side, " I figured that if this was probably the only good memory I'll have in my life, I want you to be happy too ". Bonsi laughed tiredly, " Who says I'm not happy "?

Archie blinked several times to stay awake, " I was dreaming and I heard you laugh, I've never heard you laugh like that before. It sounded so real ". Bonsi felt tears forming on her eyes and refused to let it slip, " Sister Qidu gave me something I never even knew I could dream about. She gave me friends so I want to see you have one too mother ".

The carriage was silent for a bit and Bonsi sniffed, she looked down at his now peaceful looking face and used the sleeve of her dress on her face, " You fall asleep after saying something like that to your mother ". She smiled slightly as she looked at the orange lotus, " A friend does sound nice ".
