Rebirth; Lost In Oblivion

It's already known that the world is headed for two ends; an evolution or an extinction. Well, for this fantasy world, there is a little bit of both and a third one included in the equation; this is none other than REBIRTH. Read as the humans of that world-changing era, with a group of individuals as the center of the story navigate the whole era as they try to grasp the new changes being dumped on them while also trying to survive through the perils of the world-changing era. On top of these, there's also an otherworldly being who narrates the whole ordeal and gets their life influenced by the lives of the group of individuals from a first point of view and not the usual third point of view.

Kobi Mabaso

Kobi looked at me with so many questions running through his mind. "What does he know that would help us? Tell me, tell me!"

Jackson Lee smiled. "Well, Walker is a psychic so he can see the future sort of. He just knows a lot more than the rest of us. We all are meant to find the only building on this planet but the problem is that we don't know the way. If you look around the only thing within the eye's reach is the large expanse of land and nothing more."

Kobi's eyes grew even wider. "Whoa, that's amazing! I never knew that there was such a thing in this place"

Jackson Lee nodded.

He thought that Kobi's reaction was a bit oblivious. What's amazing about this whole ordeal?

"Well, we've been marking the places we've been. " Kobi said

"What do you mean by that? Move?" Dae-su Han asked.

He had no idea that the entire building was moveable. It was the perks of the whole thing.

To be able to move the entire house when their security was breached.

But for now, they didn't have to worry about any of the creatures because they were pretty much alone in this area for now.

These creatures didn't show any particular migratory pattern so one couldn't guess which one would be at an area at a time .... but then even that was impossible because we couldn't tell the time or even the place. Where was North? South? West? Or east? There was no way of knowing really.

"Yes, this entire house is moveable. It is very slow but it could float a few meters above the ground even with us in it. It's all thanks to Saanvi. She's so cool"

"Wow. That's cool. " Dae-su Han said

Kobi's eyes sparkled with excitement as he turned to Jackson Lee. "So, you're saying that Walker can see the future and knows the way to this building you speak of?"

Jackson Lee nodded. "That's right. " Kobi's face lit up with hope. "That's amazing! We could really use a guide like that. We've been wandering around for so long, without even knowing our purpose."

Dae-su Han nodded in agreement. "Yes, it's been tough. But we're not that better off than you guys. It's hard to keep track of where we are and where we're going."

"Wow, that's really cool. Being stuck hovering around can be very depressing. Although you don't know the way to the place. It's less depressing to at least know there's hope somewhere out there" Kobi said, his face still radiating a vibrant energy.

Despite his eccentricities, Kobi possessed a unique perspective on the situation that proved to be invaluable.

While the majority of the rest of the humans were consumed by fear and desperation, Kobi approached his reality with a curious and almost childlike wonder.

His enthusiasm and optimism were contagious, and he managed to lift the spirits of Dae-su Han and Jackson Lee whom he just met.

In many ways, Kobi's eccentricities were a coping mechanism, a way of dealing with the trauma and uncertainty of their situation.

Silence filled the air as everyone cast empty gazes at nothing in particular.

Kobi himself, for the first time, had nothing to say.

He just simply looked around the room as if searching for something.

Suddenly, his gaze landed on something that made his eyes widen in surprise. "Wow, who's this little one?" He exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement.

Dae-su Han smiled "This is Sophia," he said said. "She's our little bundle of joy."

Kobi's eyes were fixed on Sophia, his face filled with wonder. "Wow, she's so tiny!" He exclaimed, his voice soft and gentle.

Sophia stared back at Kobi, her expression blank.

She didn't smile or giggle but simply gazed at him with a disinterested expression. Kobi didn't seem to mind, however.

It seemed to make him want to impress her more. He was enchanted by her presence and continued to talk to her in a soft, gentle voice.

"Hi, Sophia!" He cooed. "You're so cute! I love your little face."

Sophia continued to stare at Kobi, her expression unchanged.

But Kobi didn't let that deter him. He kept talking to her, making silly faces and trying to get a reaction out of her.

It was clear that he was smitten with the little girl, and was determined to win her over.

Kobi's eyes sparkled with excitement as he gazed at Sophia.

He couldn't take his eyes off her, and his face was filled with a mixture of wonder and joy.

He reached out his arms, his hands opening and closing in a gesture of excitement. "Can I hold her?" He asked, his voice filled with eagerness. "I promise I'll be careful!"

Dae-su Han smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think that's okay," He said, his voice soft. "Sophia could use a little excitement in her life. We're all boring."

Kobi's face lit up with delight as I handed Sophia over to him.

He cradled her in his arms, his eyes shining with joy. "Hi, Sophia!" He cooed, his voice soft and gentle. "You're so cute! I love your little face."

Sophia stared back at Kobi, her expression blank.

But Kobi didn't let that deter him.

He kept talking to her, making silly faces and trying to get a reaction out of her.

He bounced her up and down in his arms, his eyes shining with excitement. "Wheeee!" He exclaimed, his voice filled with joy. "We're flying, Sophia! We're flying!"

As Kobi continued to try to enchant Sophia with his silly faces and acts the room was suddenly interrupted by two figures entering the room. "Sorry to disturb you," one of them said, "but Ethan wants to see you guys."

The two figures who entered the room were tall and slender, with an air of quiet confidence about them.

They wore leather armour that Saanvi had crafted, the supple material moulded to fit their bodies like a second skin.

They moved with a fluid grace, their movements economical and precise, like well-trained athletes.

As they spoke, their voices were low and even, with a hint of a mysterious accent that added to their enigmatic presence.

"Okay. We'll be there in a moment. " Jackson Lee said while wondering why Ethan wanted to see us just shortly after we settled in.

The two nodded and turned to leave, but not before casting a curious glance at Kobi and Sophia. "We'll wait outside," one of them said.

Kobi's attention was diverted to the two that had just entered the room.

He knew who they were but didn't bother to pay them any attention.

He just knew we were going to talk about my supposed abilities with Ethan, Saanvi and the others.

"Okay, Sophia," he said, his voice soft and gentle. "I will make sure to make you happy. We are supposed to be happy no matter what. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise"

Sophia looked at him, her expression changing from indifference to that of curiosity.

She was slowly growing fond of Kobi and his lively self.

"Fine little girl," he said as he tickled her tummy. "You must be hungry, right? " and then he said in a whisper "Don't you worry. You're lucky to meet me. I have my way around the kitchen and I have an awesome ability too. "
