Chapter 4: My birthday banquet:

Qi Yan side:

" Young Master I've already prepared the presents for your bride-to-be," Secretary Ye quivered as they pulled up outside the Fu family's villa stepping out first (Secretary Ye,( Ye Bai Yi ) ). He opened the door for Qi Yan as Fu family's third miss Fu Hui Yun and Fu family's eldest son Fu Huia Zhan stood at the door and welcomed guests for the birthday girl " Welcome," Hui Yun babbled Qi Yan stepped in smiling as he heard the whispered conversation between the siblings " Ge is that Qi Yan?" she asked "Yes," he replied "It is your Jie Jie's ..." she interrupted him saying "Dad said we can't mention it before the announcement. But I feel sorry for Jie Jie. She still doesn't know... I was only six when the marriage was the talk of both families. At nine years old and Jie Jie was already been engaged without a choice, how sad... If only I could take her place but Mother didn't want that,". " What could we have done the only thing Grandpa Qi wanted as compensation for helping us out was a marriage between the Qi family and the Fu family. Hui Qing's side:

The banquet was due to start when everyone had arrived and at this moment I was on the second floor waiting for the right moment to descend the stairs to the hall. With me were my succumbed lover and my bestie. I had decided a few hours ago to not wait to get drugs but act first, I'm going to drug both of them and then I could break off with him when I find him 'cheating'. I'm going to make everyone pay, this bloody revenge I will make sure they pay with their life. At this moment the waiter came up with some wine that was drugged I even drugged my own just in case they decided to switch the cups but I've taken the antidote for this drug. Nothing will happen, right? And besides, I've already got my perfect man in mind for the loss of my innocence if anything happens.

" Hui Qing, the party is going to start soon you should come down in 10 mins or so. Xiu Ying, Luo Ning come downstairs," my mother stated as she went back down to the party hall. Picking up their cup Lou Ning shouted " To a happy birthday my love," as they gapped down the wine " Jia*(2) why aren't you drinking? " Xiu Ying asked " Oh I don't feel quite well so I going to stay away from too much wine today," I replied surprisingly she believed me. ' Isn't she still proceeding with the plan of drugging me? She left quite quickly as I came to collect my thoughts.

My revenge has just started and will end when their reputation is ruined and they can never get back up. I want my happy ending though so maybe in the end I will let go of revenge. Yeah likely not, never.

Tens of minutes passed and as my father began talking into the speaker announcing my arrival and saying thanks to the guest who came, I knew it was time to go appear. I descended softly from the second-floor stairs down to the banquet hall the light rays shone onto my face as I used one hand covering the hand rays the other holding the hem of my dress as I walked down. If remember correct somebody would try tripping me and I would lose face badly, I wonder who it was. Today to prevent this I already walked carefully and took a detour on the way to the platform my family were standing on. Standing onto the platform father step aside as I took the microphone " Thank you to all who came to celebrate my birthday, I do hope you all enjoy it. Have some fun and dance along," I shouted as funky music began playing in the playground. Most people headed off to give some drinks and snacks, nobody was dancing as there was an unwritten rule in high society that the host should take the first dance with her partner. ' Who to ask for a dance?'.

" Qing Qing*(3) would I have a chance to take a dance with you?" Wei Wu Xian*(4) asked as I nodded the music changed into a Tango dance probably ordered by my father seeing as someone had asked me for a dance, Why was it Wei Wu Xian? Where is that lovely boyfriend of mine? Has the aphrodisiac kicked in I'm not sure it's that quick?

We had a sweet and rhythmic dance as we have been dancing together since young, with an interesting conversation on how Wei ge ge*(5) latest love interest doesn't like him. Lol, probably she has heard of his lovely history with girls on the campus. " So how are your studies," My gu*(6) asked as she had caught hold of me leading me to a bunch of old ladies in my family after our first dance finished. " My niece is in her second year of university, she goes to Tsinghua university," she boasted " Aiyo if only my daughter could get into Tsinghua," An aunty stated " Ah your daughter still got into Peking uni another, good one," someone else said, " Qing Qing what are you studying again?" Gu asked " Gu I'm in my second year of bachelor's degree in art, textiles and fashion, and music," I replied sweetly " Woah fashion design that not one of the dreams you hear from youngsters nowadays," hushed another aunty ' God can anyone save me from these gossiping Auntie's " I'm sorry Aunties I'm afraid I have to still Qing mei away," Wei Wu Xian smartly whisked me away.

" Thanks, Wei ge ge I needed to get away from that," I babbled. " I know you look like you needed it," he replied. " Gosh bunch of gossiping aunties," I sighed. 'Eh isn't that my lovely friend holding taking to one of the waiters, ah here goes the money translation? Looks like the plot has started, but where is the main person? Best to tell Xian ge*(7) in case anything happens. " Ge in a minute, the wine that Xiu Ying is bringing over for me is spiked with aphoristic and make sure that the only person that enters my room would only be my future fiancé and not some old man. Also since this boyfriend of mine wanted an excuse to break up with me then why not me catch them having an affair?" I whispered whilst nodding "Yes she isn't the only one who knows how to spike people's drink,". " Sure, wait how did you know about the engagement?" he asked as I replied, "One secret would lead to another...".

Anyways my eyes wavered around as I caught hold of the angelic man, his face shining as per usual with girls swarming over him though he didn't seem too happy. Qi Yan was dressed in a black suit with a grey inner layer, a black tie and flowers on the side, with matching grey pants. His hair is normal length with a parting in the middle, like one of those K-dram boys. ' Aiyo, what the hell was wrong with my sight, why did I ever fall for my trash future ex and not him? My heart bumped quicker as he looked over in my direction, and smiled a sweet smile.

Wei's family owns a big car manufactory called Dong Feng. (this is fiction, so not real).

5. Wei Wu Xian is older than Hui Qing by a few months so she calls him ge ge.
