Chapter 5; How is she usually?

"You left this bracelet!" she lifted her hand showcasing the little gold bracelet embedded with jade that had a small label mark 'BX', Bai Xue could recognize that it was the bracelet she had given Mingyue after rescuing her when they had been kidnapped as a promise to repay her back.

She never thought she was so important to her and she was wearing the bracelet...

"Thank you!" she immediately wore it around her wrist, Ba Xue was curious seeing her earnest reaction.

"Do you like it? I can get you a new one and a ten times better one..." She gazed at the bracelet she had gifted her several years ago, but it was still brandy new and good but not of the latest fashion.

"Haha, you won't understand, a certain someone had gifted me this and promised to repay for my kindness but she never showed up." she softly giggled laughing but later on in her past life, she came to know it belonged to Bai Xue, now with those memories, she wanted to cherish it more, she couldn't expose her even though she knew it was her.

'I'm right here in front of you... ' Bai Xue wanted to admit but she was scared of how she would act. She didn't want to ruin their happy beginning.

She flinched nervously thinking whether if she should take this chance to confess that it was her, at that time, they were young and tiny and it was normal that Mingyue had failed to recognize her.

"Bai Xue? What are you doing here?" a rough voice echoed in the living room waking her up from her nervous state and she turned around to look for the person with that familiar voice.

"Uncle!" she exclaimed loudly as the man stood up from the couch and approached the duo, Mei Lu was embarrassed and didn't continue beating Mingyue after realizing the man was the present Bai patriarch.

The Bai family was incomparable to the Gu family, it was the top family in the country with several businesses, they owned several mining areas and oil, and they owned an arson supplying guns to the government.

Knowing anyone in the Bai family was a huge boost in all your endeavors. Cooperating with their name only would boost you from 20% to 45%.

"I just gave my friend a lift home, when did you come back? Do they know that you are back?" she inquired merrily hopping around like a little kid, you could tell that their relationship was one of the best.

"No one knows.." he drew her into his arms hugging her.

"Bai Xue, see you tomorrow..." Mingyue kissed her forehead before picking up her school bag and taking the stairs up to her bedroom, she didn't look back.

"I will go home now with my niece, good night..." he waved good night before marching out of the Gu mansion compound and boarded the family car as it drove away.

The people who were sitting in the living were left hanging, their guests had left and there was nothing they would do.

" Bai Xue, that bracelet is yours, is she the one? I thought the way you were describing it was a boy?" the man softly smirked eying the smithereened girl.

"Hehe..." she softly giggled, now the chauffeur understood why his mistress was adamant about talking to Mingyue.

"Why didn't you tell her that you were the one who owned that bracelet?" he queried curiously while playing with her curled hair.

"I don't know how she would react, this is the first time she had talked to me without scolding or turning me away, there was something different in her eyes while gazing at me, they weren't cold anymore.." she couldn't help but feel warm at the mentioning of Gu Mingyue.

"How is she usually?" he felt like Mingyue was a mystery box that needed to be opened.

"She wouldn't have stood there and waited for her mother to beat her, her mother would slap her and she would slap her back twice, things were rough between them..." She had watched her secretly and knew how arrogant and prideful she was, but above that, she was a savage.

" Hahaha, are you certain that, the person you are describing is her? " Master Bai couldn't believe this. That person he saw back in there was totally different from those descriptions.
