Race, beginning of the fight

The stark formula one car drove up to the start line, numerous other formula cars lining up in a staggered diagonal line back multiple rows. Pepper watched on in horror as people cheered in the background. Illyana continued to calm her down. 

I sighed deeply as I stepped up behind Illyana and whispered only so that they could hear. 

"I'll go with him and watch over him. Be prepared to put on your suit Pepper."

Pepper twitched her head in my direction before nodding minutely. Illyana however had a confused expression for a moment, shrugging moments later, seemingly ignoring her own doubts.

Happy that they accepted it so easily I instantly teleported, invisibly, onto the top of Tony's formula one car. The hubbub of the crowd and blaring off the car's engines immediately reached my ears causing me to go numb for a little until I started to feel the vibrations of the car below my feet.

'Fuck, okay, create a magic that can allow we to stick to surfaces and ignore the momentum of a Formula One Car.'

I immediately used the spell, my feet firmly being attached to the car below me. I attempted to lift my feet only to find them bound beyond my own strength, which was immense already. Initiating my En I started to detect everyone within a one hundred meter radius of myself. Through my En I could feel the small layered shield that wove around me.

'Interesting, so this is how it manifests.'

'Okay, that's good.'

The vibrations trickled up my legs as the engine started to roar somewhat. I watched as the lights above the demarcation line started to light up, one by one. Finally when the last light lit up they all went green and the cars took off. The speed was intense and the g-forces were ridiculous as I simply stood whilst Tony drove around the bends in the track at around the 300km/hr mark.

It was very awesome and curious being above a formula one car when it was racing, made it seem like I was third person driving in real life.

We made a sharp turn down the rather precarious cliffside part of the course. The tires started screaming as rubber burned on tarmac. The engine roared and groaned like a dragon after breathing fire. The sounds of whizzing cars soon followed as all of the drivers attempted to overtake each other whilst maintaining safety.

I heard the laughter of Tony as we made yet another turn, this time to the right. I still stood on top of the car unaffected and still invisible. My En was running full throttle as my Nen apparently stayed at the same speed that I did.

The race continued to gain speed and competitiveness as Tony quickly zoned out another driver from Hammer Industries and proceeded to take the third place from the driver. Surprisingly Tony was a very good Formula one driver. 

As rubber continued to burn on the track I felt I pang of danger coming from the course ahead. 'Hmmm, so this is where shits going to go down.'

We continued to blaze through the course as Tony passed second and first place. We had now reached a more populated and shielded part of the course. Wired walls and thick concrete barriers made the outline of the track. When we were just beginning to enter that segment a single man stood in the middle of the course. The man wore an exoskeleton suit and around him a blue shield made of pure blue energy flickered off and on. I knew that this shield should normally be completely invisible but apparently I could easily see it.

Tony attempted to slow down but ended up sliding out on this part of the course. The tires screeched in the attempt at breaking the momentum of the car. I could feel the side of the car wanting to flip over. Grimacing at the situation I quickly cast my spell again.

Except, this time, on the whole car and the surroundings road way. With my En it was easy to spread the affects of the spell as I could feel everything in the area with my mind. I continued to watch as Tony's car came to a complete stop the momentum completely drained off into kinetic energy that the shield of the spell absorbed and redistributed back into the ground. The same spectacle began to happen to the other cars on the track as they all hit the area of the spell, all of their momentum being completely redistributed.

Every oncoming car halted as if they were puppets with their strings cut. The man who was waiting for Tony's car started to move forward towards it. It was at this moment that I noticed dozens of people in the crowd carrying assault rifles.

I internally started to sweat at the situation as I couldn't save everyone in the crowd and Tony. As every car in the race came to a stop i let go of the spell i was controlling.

'Teleport behind the armed people in the crowd, then teleport to Illyana if possible... Tony should be fine against that guy, at least for a little while, especially without any injuries.'

'Let's begin!'
