Chapter 199- Small Talk Part 2

Hearing his explanation, Adori and Xin seemed to contemplate it.

"I see, even though taking contracts is something natural for us, regulars, since we have to take them no matter what if we want to be able to do anything with shinsu. To you, irregulars, since you can control shinsu freely without any restriction, they could restrict you and aren't really beneficial, including the contract of immortality?" Adori asked Liu Guanyi curiously.

"Yeah, more or less something like that. If I want to know what kind of effects exactly they have for an irregular like me, I have to see and oversee the leaders of the ten great families and do tests and experiment with them, which I don't think they will take it kindly even if they only hear it." Liu Guanyi said jokingly, which got Adori to show a rare side of her as she giggled lightly.

"You jest, Liu. Even if they are nothing compared to the guardians or Enryu, they are considered as Gods by countless of people and have their own zealous and fanatical followers."

Adori smiled. "Not only their followers will become extremely mad themselves, they probably would make an order personally to have you to be executed. Although I have never met them personally, I know that just like most of their descendants, they are just as prideful but the level of their pride is dozens of times greater."

Adori continued with a shrug and nonchalant voice. "Which is quite reasonable for them to behave like that. After all, they have been the uncontested rulers for countless years and have stood strong even after two great eras had passed, and also had won every single war they had waged. While the incident that happened on the floor of death kinda shook them a bit, they recovered quickly and put the incident away like it was nothing."

"Well, it was pretty much as expected of them. They were probably a better bunch ages ago but right now, they are already rotten to the core. But while they are rotten, regarding the Red Tower himself, I guess it's more of can't be helped?" Said Liu Guanyi with wonder.

"They cannot do much about him, after all. So probably king Zahard simply didn't really give a damn and only did the bare minimum to solve the situation."

"No matter what he does, he won't be able to defeat a floor guardian with all of his army and resources, even if all the leaders of the ten great families help him let alone trying to make any countermeasures against the Red Tower." Explained Liu Guanyi calmly.

"That makes sense but not doing his best and just gave up is disappointing of him even if we are talking about the Red Tower himself." Said Adori with a hint of contempt.

Adori looked at Liu Guanyi in the face. "Even if I can't defeat you, Liu, if we fight again. I will still give my best fight regardless even if I am sure that I will lose in the end."

"However, regardless of how incompetent he looks like, I don't think it's a matter of willpower or giving up before trying. Although king Zahard is prideful, aloof, etc, he is still not stupid. Maybe there's something more than meet the eye?"

"Well, glad that you are still thinking clearly even after a lot of my trash talk about Zahard and the leaders of the ten great families over the years. This is why I like to have a discussion with you, princess." Said Liu Guanyi with a smile.

"Naturally, even if they have grown detached from worldly matters and too comfortable, they are still the top figures so giving them a slight bit of respect is necessary even if we are biased to think that they are growing to be more incompetent from the past." Adori smiled as both Liu Guanyi and Xin nodded at her words.

"Anyway, putting aside all of these talks, your performance at the village was quite exceptional, Liu, you managed to get that old man to move and comply to your wishes willingly. It seems that I have still quite a bit more to reach your eloquent speaking ability."

"From what I learned, you managed to "convince" the old man with three steps. First, you talk casually to get more information while also using all of your other senses to observe him. With this, you manage to collect a lot of information about him.

"Second, you use the information that you got to get his "weaknesses" and leveraged them to get him to talk more and expose more of his "weaknesses". Then, lastly, you used the hard way to leverage all of his "weaknesses" to corner him."

"However, the best part is, after you have cornered him, you give him a way out. This way, his compliance and willingness to work with us are much more guaranteed than if we force him with just violence and threat. It's easy in theory but to really put it into work, it's way much harder. But you managed to carry it out amazingly."

"As expected of you, Liu, I am impressed." Adori smiled at him.

"I am happy that you get it as well, Adori. As expected of you I guess, you learn everything quickly and efficiently." Said Liu Guanyi as he smirked at her.

"Hey, don't leave me out like that Mr. Liu and you too, princess Adori! I don't know what you two are talking about!" Complained Xin with a sullen tone. "I want to also learn your trades outside of the regular training as well, Mr. Liu."

"Sure then, let me explain it slowly from the start." Liu Guanyi agreed easily.

The three continued to chat about many things as they continued to go toward the direction of the lake on the map. Now, the only one that was left out from the discussion and was doing the menial task of walking hundreds of miles was a certain white tiger.

She huffed in annoyance.

They could talk and enjoy the comfortable breeze while she had to carry these freeloaders across hundreds of miles along the region?

They had better give her something tasty later!
