"I....Think I'll give it a shot."
Slowly she spoke those words one by one while her thoughts untangled along with each word until she finally said what she wanted to say. Finishing her sentence she noticed that she felt a lot lighter suddenly and her thoughts were more clear as well. "That was...A lot easier then I thought it'd be." Now that she finally got the words out it was hard to tell why she was so afraid to say it before but that didn't feel so important to her as before so she pushed it out of her mind as she turned to her Grandfather who was smiling at her. "Whoa." She had never seen her Grandfather smile so much though so she was taken by surprise.
"Good job tearia...."
"...?"
Reaching his hands out he grabbed Tearia and pulled her in for a hug before she could back away. "Such a good job.." If before he was proud and impressed by her fighting skills that she had shown so far then now that was all blown out of the water by that one sentence she had spoken as genuine happiness filled his body and thoughts. Fighting could be something difficult. He knew that but to him he had seen so many people do it over his lifetime and he had seen the downsides of it as well. Some of the strongest people he had met in his life were probably some of the most broken ones as well and well that wasn't true for all of them it was still something common.
"Not like I can talk." Because of such skill in fighting they could almost ignore every problem or beat it if it bothered them however that left too many issues for themselves. All they would do was constantly run from their own selves and whenever someone came to interfere in their lives they would simply kill them or silence them regardless of who they were. "And that was....Lonely." Refusing to acknowledge anyone's existence, some eventually shut themselves off to the world in solitude all by themselves for years on end and the mental scars and problems that came with such things were almost unrepairable.
"How can you help someone who either kills you or refuses to listen well continuously festering new problems and issues inside themselves." Most of the time unless they could help themselves and break past that they would eventually go insane and he had the unpleasant experience of dealing with that first hand. "Yet that's also the reason I'm even here today." He use to be just like them until he met his best friend that he started noticing the problems he had alongside his future wife as well. "Without those two women I probably would have ended up the same as her one day.'' Unfortunately for one of them her end turned out not so happy and her breaking point was his relationship and choice to be with his now wife and no one else.
"That was a day filled with so much blood and death." That day he witnessed thousands of people dying being ripped to shreds without any hope of fighting back while he had to hunt down was of his best and only friends to stop her and with her strength Eli could never win alone and he didn't. He failed to stop her so many times that day that it frustrated him but even when his wife finally arrived and helped so much damage had already been done to their city and people that it was pointless. "Yet they....Blamed us." But instead of his family protecting them they blamed and outcasted them using them as a scapegoat leaving them to be hunted down like dogs unrelentingly. "Really I don't know whether to thank her or hate her." Hugging his Granddaughter he let out a long drawn out sigh as he stared at the top of her head.
"Yet you were able to do what so many "Great" others couldn't." He had almost seen Tearia walking down that path as well which scared him. The thought of his only family member left going down such a path wasn't something he wanted to see or think about but now with those few words and the courage and strength she showed he was a lot less worried about such things.
"I think you're suffocating the poor girl."
Staring at her husband hugging tearia so hard after listening to the start of their conversation she had an idea of what he was thinking about but there was nothing she could say or do about it. "I was part of the problem after all..." But she didn't regret it. Though that didn't mean she couldn't speak up when she saw their Granddaughter starting to struggle.
"Oh my bad."
Looking at tearia he let her go before it got worse. Taking a deep breath Tearia regained her breath as she stared at her Grandfather in fear a little before inching towards her Grandmother. Seeing that sight though both of them laughed as Tearia joined along shortly after.
"Well I think we should start training again. You only have so much time left until the competition so you should try to use it as best as possible."
"I agree but try and take it a little easy on her okay? Not everyone is you after all."
"I'll keep it in mind."
"Good, I'll be in my office if you need anything."
Listening to the sounds of their agreement she walked off to her office. But just before she got to the door she remembered something.
"Oh and Tearia you don't have to come visit me later. Instead train with your Grandfather from now on okay."
Saying that she disappeared behind the door before anything else could be said. "You'll need it." The people showing up to that competition wouldn't be easy to fight and she didn't want Tearia to just do okay. She wanted her to the best she possibly could and if she was talking up all of Tearia's time then it wouldn't help. "We can always continue afterwards anyways." Smiling, she went to her office.
