Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Only A Fool

*Thump*

With a loud sound his body fell to the ground leaking blood like crazy. He wasn't dead just yet but if he didn't get treated fast he would be. Looking up at all the spectators still watching their fight, Tearia released a sigh of relief as some people came to pick up Ralix's body. "He won't survive." Tearia had made sure he would die before they treated him in time, they would just think they failed to heal him in time and declare it as their fault. With that out of the way Tearia felt a little lighter in her steps as she went back to help her friends.

Fire blazed all around Laven and Zilan as they continued their fight. Tilting his head to the side Zilan dodged another set of claws that wanted to give him a few more holes. They were both Attack Paths from Laven's observation, it just so happened that Zilan was faster making this a bit harder. "Need to deal with these flames as well." They were cutting him off from a large area to fight while also stopping him from seeing the rest of the fight around him. Exchanging more blows, they attacked each other non stop. "He's in a frenzy." With how sporadic and desperate Laven's attacks were Zilan was a bit confused at how he was fighting. For such a seemingly patient person he had lost that attribute completely making this fight a lot easier.

Pushing Laven's arm aside he jabbed him in the side before his other claws could reach him. Getting more frustrated the longer the fight went on Laven could feel sweat run down his face thanks to the heat. "Fine." Giving up trying to quickly take down Zilan for a second, Laven started to spread water into the air. Like a mini storm he let water fall onto the ground to try and put out Zilan's flames. With Laven's type of fighting style it was best he had as much room to move as he needed to make use of every tool he had. Being forced into one small scenario was very bad for him. Pouring water he took any hit he had to as the damage on his body stacked up, he just ignored the pain though.

He couldn't let that demon get away no matter what, that was his purpose.

"A little water isn't going to help you here."

"Still worth a shot!"

Time went by as water poured around them trying it's best to douse the flames while everyone fought. No matter how much water was poured on them they always came back stronger than before. "Come on." Laven felt a spike of impatience climbing up his back as he counted how much time had passed. If they were able to stall this fight out for too long then it was their loss. "Do I really have to use that?" They had already been fighting for close to an hour and the people who could help trap them were running low or weak by now. He could see their energies grow weaker over time and soon over people competing would join in for easy knockouts. "I can't let that happen." Shaking his head Laven put more energy into his water as he clawed Zilan's body and ripped his shirt open. Three long claw marks carved themself in blood along his chest where Laven managed to hit him.

The power of the World wasn't nearly as effective on humans as it was on demons nor was Laven that good with it yet. With his years of teaching under his Master, Laven had chosen to walk down the Astral Path more than the Celestial Path unlike most Hunters. He wanted to see just how far Astral Strength could take him against a demon instead of using the World's Power. "The world's power is nice but it has its drawbacks as well." Being weaker against most other people wasn't some Laven could ever accept with the World's Power. His master had tried to persuade him towards it but he never listened. In his fight though he needed to use some of it.

"Fine. We'll do this the scuffed way."

Celestials could only ever choose one path to take for power and never both. It was something impossible for most to handle in their lifetimes. The times people did try and go both they simply ended up weaker in both areas so Laven never tried that either. It was a fool's wish to do that and he was no fool. Using a little bit of it was doable though. Energy flowed from the ground underneath him into his body as he felt his age revert slightly. He could even feel the scar on his eye healing as his Water Element powered up along with his strength. Stomping on the ground he felt it crack under him as the Flames were finally disappearing for good.

Surprised at such a sudden change Zilan didn't have much chance to react as a set of claws came swiping at him with speeds he had never seen before. Stepping back, he tried to dodge it only to fail. Feeling his flesh get ripped open he held in the urge to cry out as Laven quickly took out another weapon with more space to move now. A giant Axe appeared in his hands that he swung at Zilan. If this hit him it would easily tear him into two pieces in an instant. "There he is." Noticing Xilo from the corner of his eye Laven saw him noticeably get slower. "Looks like he's being weakened by the world." That only drove him to finish Zilan off faster.

*whoosh*

Before he could react Zilan felt the edge of the axe hit his stomach and slice his chest open sending him flying in the process. Blood spilled everywhere as he looked up at the blue sky filled with mini dots where the Spectators sat. "Ouch, that hurt." A bit dazed, Zilan did his best to stand up as everyone tried to help him. It was too late though, Laven was faster then each and every single one of them. From their point of view he was on top of Zilan's body in an second with his Axe raised high. Moving his arms Zilan tried to shove Laven off his body before he could kill him, he was too weak though and lost too much blood to put any power into it.

"Quit squirming."

Laven's Wolf Eye lit up as he punched him in the stomach one more time while watching his energy traces fade.

""Zilan!!!!!""

All of them screamed his name as they rushed to help him out.

"So-...rry...."

Feeling his head spin in pain Zilan felt his vision disappearing as he took a second big defeat ever since his brother first beat him.

Enjoy.
