Danger Ahead

Shifting himself next to the broken statue from before Xilo listened to Tearia's words as he smashed one Statue before moving on to the next. He may not have understood it but if it was something Tearia wanted so urgently then he had to listen. Crushing another there was easily forty Statues he had to get through. Each one was fairly easy to break at the very least giving Xilo more time to put into movement as another one crumbled underneath him.

"Just a few tens of more."

Continuing his destruction of statues he hoped whatever he was doing was helping Tearia. Watching her palm begin to turn red from the heat she felt her breath quickening as she did her best to fight against it. It was freaking out with each statue that broke causing more flames to burst out of it. "It's getting weaker though." She was getting closer to capturing this thing; it was just a matter of time if she didn't pass out from the heat before she was done.

*Sizzzzzzz*

The two Elements constantly battled each other for supremacy but the flames were dying out with each strike her Lightning conjured up. It was a small battle of tug of war that got easier with time. Hearing more Statues breaking Tearia let loose an exhausted sigh as she felt it ease up more. "Almost there." Xilo had nearly destroyed over half of them and only needed to break a couple more and then this would be over. Though at this point she wasn't even sure if she needed all of them destroyed anymore.

"Just a little bit left and then we're done. One big push is all I need."

She was so close to finishing that at this point it was already caught. It was just going to throw a deadly tantrum until she encased it in her ring for when they needed it again. "Wonder if we'll ever use it though." Something like this would probably kill them trying to use it so Xilo probably planned to sell it. "He doesn't even have the fire Element....no that's wrong." Remembering that Nightmarish day she saw flames from Xilo which meant he might be keeping it.

"It's up to him what he does with it. It's not for me to decide."

Hearing one final Statue breaking Tearia realized she hadn't been focusing as she snapped to attention. "One final push." Pumping a little more energy into it she went for one last increase as she tried to fill in her territory all in one go. Watching her lightning spread she felt her pulse slowing down as her breaths got even faster however she was doing it. Little by little the flames energy was replaced by hers as she eventually made it to the tip. With that she felt a lot of the heat surrounding her disappear as she thought about putting it into her necklace.

"Stupid thing."

Within a second she felt the heat vanish completely as her energy lost its place to go as it flew across the room before slamming into the wall before she stopped it. "I did it..." Feeling a hand touch her back she jumped in fright a little bit before realizing it was Xilo. Calming down she felt her breathing turn back to normal as the redness on her skin began to fade while a cooling sensation ran across her back. "Huh?" Turning her head around she saw Xilo lightly rubbing her back with slight ice on his fingertips.

"Thanks."

"No I should be thanking you. I didn't think it would be that hard on you. Sorry for asking you to do that."

"Don't worry about it, If I really didn't want to do it I wouldn't have. I'm pretty simple sometimes."

"Sometimes eh?"

"Oh shush."

Laughing to himself, he let her get some relaxation as her body cooled off after dealing with all that heat. "So Tearia, what about the other times then?" Asking himself dumb questions he trailed off as he got lost in the moment. Gently rubbing his hand across her back he lost himself in the feeling of it. Staying like for a couple minutes, a silence filled the time in between them but they didn't mind. Unfortunately it wasn't bound to last long. Within a couple minutes Xilo felt his body stiffen up along with Tearia's as an earth shattering screech reached his ears.

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAA*

Instinctively he covered his ears as it caused havoc to his eardrums for a minute. "What the hell was that." Finally feeling it fade away, he felt like he had gone slightly deaf after that. He didn't know what it was or where it came from but he didn't have any good feelings about that. Something had happened and maybe even something or someone had caused that scream but with the power behind it he was worried. His eardrums almost bled just from that alone after all.

"You okay?"

Worriedly he checked up on Tearia

"Yeah, what was that though?"

"I don't know but I think we're going to find out soon. Let's go."

"....Alright."

Walking back down the stairs hand in hand Xilo missed some things in this room but he would come back later. Right now whatever caused the scream was a lot more important to him. "This could be dangerous." He had a lot of thoughts about it, he just really hoped he was wrong. If he was right he doubted he could do anything to stop it.

"Please don't be what I think it is."

Whispering that to himself he squeezed Tearia's hand for reassurance as more statues appeared before them again as they entered the first floor hall. Walking Towards the open room Xilo felt his nerves spiking through the roof as another scream attacked them. It was even worse then the last one however he couldn't run away even if he wanted to.

"Xilo?"

"What's up Tearia?"

"Why does that scream sound oddly familiar?"

"Hmmm?"

I lost track of time today, sorry about that :c

Enjoy.
