A Small Scare

Around midnight Aeon returned to the town with everything Tearia had asked him to retrieve. Sneaking his way in he looked for presence as she sat in one of the rooms making something. With a crystal forming in her hand Tearia looked up and spotted a figure appear before her. Practically jumping out of her seat the crystal she was making exploded in her hands while she tried to prepare for a fight after a shock ran through her. She didn't expect someone to attack her in the city but it looked like she was proven wrong. "Dammit." In a second Ravenous appeared in her hand as she waved it at the shadow in front of her.

"Ah, sorry that I spooked you. It's Aeon and I've returned with what you asked for."

"Haven't heard of knocking?"

"It won't happen again."

Putting Ravenous away she watched Aeon drop a bag on the table she was at with a bit of edge in her movements. "My hand hurts." Looking down at some of the damage she caused herself by letting that crystal explode, Tearia sat down as she grabbed some basic medicine for it before shuffling through Aeon's mess. Once she started with those she would need to throw all of her focus on it without interruptions so she was trying to make sure she created some extra crystals in case for others.

"Please make sure of it. Once I start on this I can't be disturbed at all. So you'll be left on your own with the others but if you keep doing the same thing until Xilo's return we should be fine. I've also created some extras to help lighten the load if need be."

"Are you sure you don't need all the energy you can get?"

"Don't worry I'm keeping track of myself. If you have nothing better to do though you could help make some as well. Plenty of people need them after all. With a couple hundred people sick and only ten or so of us we could use some help."

"I would but my energy is a bit defective, please forgive me. I'll continue to keep watch though."

With a bow Aeon tried to excuse himself from the room as fast as possible. He had gotten some of the information and that was enough for him. He was better suited for stealth and combat not helping people. "Sounds like a lame excuse even for me." It didn't have to sound convincing though it only had to get him away from Tearia. He didn't plan on interfering too much and getting those materials was already as far as he would go. "For now." If Telan was interested in recruiting them he wanted to get a better observation on them and what they could do on their own.

"Creating so many crystals with no sleep and still wanting to do more, good reflexes and a...unique weapon and element. Along with a lot of sass. Telan you sure you want that?"

Writing it all down in his head he left before he heard another word from Tearia directly and went to check on the rest of the people that were less important. Once she started creating the cure with those materials he would come back and observe until then he had his own things to do first. Left once more by herself, Tearia leaned back as she felt some anger at such an excuse. She knew enough about people to know he was lying right to her face. She couldn't chase him though since she already lost his presence.

"Defective? Yeah right."

Grumbling about Aeon running away she went back to doing all the work she could as exhaustion was creeping on her. She did her best to ignore it as she finished twenty crystals within an hour. "This should be enough, any more and I won't be able to do much else." She had made fifty spare crystals in hopes it would be enough to hold them over but she wasn't sure. As much as she wanted to make more though she couldn't. She had to begin getting everything ready for Xilo's return.

"Come back fast please."

Without that plant she wanted from Xilo people were going to start dying.

As the moon hung over them Xilo's group ran through a field with only the sounds of their heavy breathing to keep them company. "We might need a break soon." Xelfia seemed to be doing fine but he and Relia were starting to run out of power. It would be better to take a short break then try to push any further at a much slower pace. They had run for almost a half a day now so a break was fine. "We're about a day away from where Tearia said." Looking at his notes that Tearia wrote down he tried to find one of the landmarks that should be nearby to use as a breaking spot. It was a small little lake in this meadow that signaled they were about halfway there.

"If either of you find a lake close by let me know, We'll be taking a break there."

"Got it."

"....Nnn."

They had just entered the field so it should be coming up soon, they just had to make sure they didn't miss it. With Tearia's instructions though he doubted they would. So far they had met each point Tearia had specified fairly easily without problem. "She knows more about this area than I thought." With the stars lighting their way Xelfia eventually spotted a reflection of water in the night. Seeing the lake of water coming up she slowed down as she told the other two.

"Xilo, Relia, the lake's coming up."

Starting to see the lake that Xelfia was talking about Xilow slowed down a bit as he started to catch his breath, they wouldn't be here for long so they needed to make the most of it while they could.

"Alright, we got twenty minutes or so until we have to get going again."

Enjoy.
