The Voice Inside 1

After Sophia got home, she went ahead and placed the suitcase on the table. When she was about to close the door on her back, her legs suddenly gave out.

-Thud!

"I can't feel them..." Sophia murmured to herself. After touching her lap with her fingers, she noticed that it was shaking.

"St-stop shaking!" She shook her legs, but it didn't listen. After waiting for a few minutes, she finally git tired of it and decided to drag herself towards the door to close it.

When she's done, Sophia slumped her back to the wall to try and calm herself down. But, all she could think about was what happened earlier.

Seeing the darkness covered the whole body of the boy, she suddenly felt a new emotion steering out inside her.

Although she had managed to hide this new profound emotions up until she got back to her room, it seems like her legs finally gave out after what she just experienced.

Sophia didn't know what it was since it is the first time she felt this, but she knew that if someone where to replace her place would experience the same thing she was feeling.

It was like she was scared for what she had seen today but more...

Sophia didn't know that she was currently experiencing 'Fear' for the first time.

She wanted to puke, but decided to stop herself. For the first time in her life, she felt fear crawling around her body.

"That thing... How did it stared back?" Holding her head with both of her hands, Sophia suddenly had a flash back from earlier.

Behind the back of the boy was a dark fog that looks endless... similar to the abyss.

"I had the ability to take a glance on someone else's fate..." The moment this words came out from her mouth, the dark fog behind him suddenly opened it's eyes and smiled.

Although she had managed to keep her facade until she got home, that experience was something she won't ever forget even for the rest of her life...

Slowly, the fog grew hands that rubbed the boy's gentle cheeks as it released a terrifying pressure that almost made her breakdown.

Then....

[ፕዘቿ ፕጎጠቿ ጎነ ክቿልዪጎክኗ ቻዐዪ ጎ ነዘልረረ ዪቿልሠልጕቿክቿዕ]

Suddenly, like being hit with a bullet, it shot out something that managed to hit her forehead. There she experienced some kind of emotions similar to pain of being killed and seeing his loved one die many times.

Sophia may have kept herself from faltering, but that experience had left her a mental trauma after experiencing the emotions of the boy's future.

She didn't know why, but knowing that the boy in front of her will experience something like that pained her heart deeply.... And she didn't like it.

After checking her watch, Sophia stood up from her seat and placed the papers Athan gave her earlier to a suitcase.

"Athan." She called out the boy's name.

After the boy finished preparing his things, Athan turned his head to face her direction, as he gently asked, "What?"

"You'll experience something worse than death in the future. But, can you promise me that you'll kept your head high and continue looking forward?" Sophia had an expression of pain, worried and aggrieved. She just didn't want to falter now.

"It'll be a tough and long journey. You'll lose things and gained things. But, remember..." With a short pause, she finally continued.

"Your life had purpose even though it doesn't have meaning."

[ዘጎነ ረጎቻቿ ዘልዕ የሁዪየዐነቿ ቿሀቿክ ፕዘዐሁኗዘ ጎፕ ዕዐቿነክ'ፕ ዘልሀቿ ጠቿልክጎክኗ]

Her voice and the abyss went synchronized.

With that, she left the restaurant and went back home... Which now led to her in this state.

Coughing, Sophia clutched her chest tightly, that look as if she was having a hard time breathing. She was starting to pant like crazy as if she had run-out of breath after running in a marathon without stopping for an hour.

Sophia then raised her hands, trying to reach out for her phone to ask for someone's help. But, before she could do, she passed out.

The last thing she saw, the boy she had her fears from earlier came inside the window and was now running forward to help her.

"So...phia... Hey!!... Shut up, will you...!!!" The boy before her strongly shook her body, as if he was trying to keep her awake.

After hearing those words, she managed to let out a smile before passing out.

While I was lazily dozing off in bed because I had nothing to do, I rolled to the side and accidentally fell off my bed.

-Thud!

With a loud sound, my eyes shot open as I let out a painful groan while holding my back. "Fuck that hurt!" I said aloud.

The neighboring room from my side may have heard as I heard a loud banging sound coming from the wall.

"𝘚𝘩𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘱!! 𝘞𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳!" My neighbor spoke loudly as they once again banged the wall to make sure that I heard them clearly.

Because of the pain I've felt when I fell off the bed, I'm not currently in the mood to argue with this guys.

"Sorry!" I replied while raising my voice just to make sure that they could hear me nice and clearly.

But then...

[[𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰, 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘱!!]]

I suddenly heard a voice, similar to mine, speaking inside my mind.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬... 𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴? I thought. I was about to say something else when suddenly, the new voice once again spoke.

[[𝘠𝘦𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮, 𝘴𝘰, 𝘸𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘶𝘱.]]

𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦... I was about to prepare to slap myself back into reality when I suddenly realized something. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬. 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶? 𝘈𝘯𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘦?

[[𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘯𝘪𝘵,]] The voice cursed. [[𝘬𝘶𝘦𝘮𝘮... 𝘬𝘶𝘦𝘮𝘮... 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵. 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯... I 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, '𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬'.]]

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘯𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦...? 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵, 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦? I asked that question to the voice.

Soon, it gave me an answer with a sound similar to like clicking a tongue. [[𝘛𝘴𝘬!]]

𝘠𝘦𝘱. 𝘉𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘰! I thought to myself with a nod. 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵, 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸?!

[[𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴]] The voice inside my head spoke in a playful voice.

"What the heck are you anyway?" I questioned the voice. It then let out a small humming sound before realizing that I had said something.

[[𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨?]] Asked the Voice. It seems like it weren't even listening when I was speaking earlier... I somewhat wanted to smack it's head only if it had one.

[[𝘬𝘶𝘦𝘮𝘮... 𝘬𝘶𝘦𝘮𝘮... 𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺.]]

You want my body? What are you? A pervert? I unconsciously shivered as I covered my important parts.

[[𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺. 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺? 𝘈𝘭𝘴𝘰, 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘪𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥.]] The voice sounded innocent while saying something this scary.

"Heck no!" I raised my voice.

My 'neighbors' probably had heard this as they started knocking at the wall loudly. "𝘚𝘩𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘱!!" The neighbor on the other side roared in anger.

Damn, they're annoying as fuck.

I couldn't stand the noice so I decided to leave and take a quick stroll in the academy.

After taking a right from a cross section of the hallway and going down, I arrived outside of the dormitory.

𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵. I lazily slumped my back on the bench.

"Shut up."

Lazily staring at the constellation above, I let out a long sigh before slowly closing my eyes.

"Yeah?"

[[𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯.]]

I went silent because of that.

A few minutes later, I answered, "Me? I'll probably try and live similar from my previous life where I became a shut-in."

"Was that sarcasm?" I asked.

[[𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮, 𝘐𝘥𝘪𝘰𝘵.]]

I was about say something else when suddenly, I heard a loud sound coming from the top, just on the second floor building behind me.

...Isn't that Sophia's room?

With that realization, I promptly stood up and used the bench to hop on.

"Hup!"

Thankfully, the window seemed to be open. As soon as I was only a few meters away from her window, I folded my body similar to a ball and used my feet to land on the ground safely.

"Sophia!"
