As she took a deep breath, her eyes darted back and forth, her senses on high alert to avoid getting overwhelmed immediately. As her chest heaved up and down heavily, she tried to control her breathing.
It was then she noticed it. The Man-eaters were no longer recklessly charging toward her. They still kept her in an encirclement but they now kept their distance, letting out intermittent growls.
