With how the situation was outside with Michel Voight and his cronies raring to have Nathan's head the moment he stepped out of the tunnel all because he desired to prove himself better than him, Reyes resolved himself after taken everything into consideration as he was already planning on drawing out as much power as he could possibly muster from within him. After all, he had a promise to fulfill.
"No, man. If I'm being honest, you are overthinking things right now Reyes, I need you guys to head back and get some well deserved rest, I can handle things here. Your presence would only complicate my plans to no end and we can't afford to let my plan fall through because I don't believe that any other plan would be able to fool Michel Voight with how cunning he is."
