Chapter 10: Blaze and Soraya.

Soraya walked into the mighty building that smelt of wealth and dignitaries. She was already intimidated by the building that she stopped and took deep breaths. It was her first time here and although she was married to the one who ran the company, it was still her first time and it wasn't him she came to see. She came to deliver a meal to some of the workers who placed orders 30mins ago. The one responsible for deliveries was not available at the moment and she was already halfway to make deliveries before realizing that it was her "husband's" work place that she was going to.

Walking into the building, Raya gripped her deliveries so hard to stop her nervousness. She walked up to the receptionist and asked for the people she came for. She was directed to a table of three young ladies. Slowly she made her way to them, it was impossible not to notice how pretty and dignified they looked. Everything about them screamed class and taste. It was lunch break but they were the only ones on the round table with their minds focused on a tablet.

"Here is your delivery ma'am"

"Ma'am?" a delicate yet bold voice asked.

"Did you just call her ma'am? Does she look old to you?"

"Say something!"

Raya panicked a little before composing herself and apologizing. She never felt comfortable with the rich, it wasn't inferiority complex but she just didn't want any trouble.

"Am sorry Miss"

She saw them adjust their attires before gently flinging their hair.

"Well... I guess that's better since you've got a good eye."

"We're married but it doesn't hurt to be mistaken for single ladies" One with a strawberry blonde hair said while flashing her wedding band and stifling a giggle. If she was given the opportunity, Soraya would have rolled her eyeballs but she had to be careful. They looked spoilt.

"Can I see you without your face mask?" The quite one who has been observant and had only said a word with a short black hair asked.

"Huh?"

"She asked you to take off your face mask".

Raya would have walked away from there but something about the lady in the middle made her oblige. Slowly she took off her face mask and she could see them starring at her in genuine surprise.

"You didn't fail my expectation"

"Wow!"

"You're so pretty! You know what, we're besties now".

"What's your name?"

Soraya could not comprehend what was going on, how they switched from hostile to accommodating...

"What's your name honey?"

"R.. Raya.. Soraya"

"Soraya... Even your name is pretty"

"I like the short form. Raya.. It's cute"

"Can I have your digits?"

"Me too"

Raya was overwhelmed and confused with the situation at hand.

"Here"

They handed her a sleek phone to type in her number which she did.

"Am Amira"

"Whitney"

"Kimberly"

"I'll call you if we wanna meet up. Hope you'll come?" Kimberly said while playing with her waist long hair.

"I love your hair too, what products do you use on it?"

"Coconut products"

"That works?"

"Yeah it does"

"I'll give it a try.."

Raya left with a very confused face.

Back in the office.

"Any particular reason you took her number?"

"I just did"

"We know you better than that"

"She's special. I can feel it."

"You like this one?"

"Yeah, there's something shinny about her and I think it be nice to make new friends outside our normal circle. We're not getting any younger".

"I like anything pretty" that was Kimberly. "And she's definitely an eye candy".

"If you guys say so.. Let's give a try at making a new type of friend".

"That settled, let's get back to work".

"Mmh! This chicken thigh is to die for! My new favorite chicken spot!".
