Lucent's Training Arc - Combined Skills

In RAIDS ONLINE, players can increase their Link Force by defeating and devouring the Ragnarok Beasts. However, that concept is not as simple as it seems, as there are boundaries for what Rank of Ragnarok Beast the players need to devour to increase their Link Force.

To increase their Link Force from 1 to 25 percent, players must devour Rank E Ragnarok Beasts. It would be a simple task to increase their Link Force from 1 to 15 percent but from 15 to 25 percent, the rate would become much slower for the players to increase their Link Force even if they devour multiple Rank E Ragnarok Beasts.

From 25 to 50 percent Link Force, players must devour Rank D Ragnarok Beasts. And just like the first boundary, the rate of increase of their Link Force would become much slower once the players reach midway through the second boundary.

For 50 to 75 percent Link Force, players must devour Rank C Ragnarok Beasts. And from 75 to 100 percent Link Force, players must devour high-ranking Rank B Ragnarok Beast.

After breaking through all those boundaries, only then will the players have a chance to defeat and devour the Rank A Ragnarok Beasts and complete RAIDS ONLINE.

Or so all the players have thought.

After the fight against the Rank E Ragnarok Beast Uniboar, Luel, and SilverPup continue to hunt more Rank E Ragnarok Beasts until Luel's Link Force is back to 15 percent.

Increasing Luel's Link Force will be much faster if SilverPup just defeats multiple Rank C Ragnarok Beasts and let Luel devour them, but with that method, Luel will stay as a noob player forever, and SilverPup won't gain anything from it.

That's why SilverPup decided that they should shift from fighting Rank E to Rank D Ragnarok Beasts so that Luel will gain some experience and skill while fighting a stronger opponent than he currently is.

"L!.. U!... C!... E!... N!... T!... You can do it, Lucent!"

"Please just shut up, SilverPup!"

"Hey!... Is that how you should be talking to a girl doing her best to cheer on you?!... Learn to appreciate a girl's effort, Lucent!"

"I would appreciate it if you help me, though!"

"Enough with that awkward cheer! You're just distracting me and making fun of me at the same time!"

[Rank D Ragnarok Beast, Codename - Shadow Hyena.]

Right now, Luel is fighting a 1-meter large Ragnarok Beast that has a similar look to a hyena.

Its black fur, as dark as the shadow of the night, gives its codename Shadow Hyena. It might be smaller compared to the usual 2-meter large Rank D Ragnarok Beast, but the unique skill of Shadow Hyena makes it a troublesome opponent. Especially for a solo type of player.

...ROOAAARRRRR!...

With a roar as if the Rank D Ragnarok Beast has activated its skill, multiple Shadow Hyenas appear, like a ghost appearing out of nowhere, and surround Luel.

It might look like that Luel is fighting multiple Shadow Hyenas but the truth is that there's only one Rank D Ragnarok Beast among the dozen Shadow Hyenas surrounding him. The remaining 11 Shadow Hyenas are only an illusion created by the real body using its skill.

"Charge! x Orion's Claws!.."

Luel activates his Charge Skill, releasing a silver light aura that engulfs not only his legs but his whole body.

Unlike his usual attack pattern, attacking with his increased speed as soon as he activated his Charge Skill, Luel didn't immediately move to attack his opponent. After activating his Charge Skill, Luel followed up with the activation of his Orion's Claws Skill.

With the claws of silver light aura that took form at Luel's hands with the activation of his Orion's Claws Skill, he makes his move to attack his opponents. But this time, Luel didn't need to move from where he was standing to reach and tear apart the Rand D Ragnarok Beast Shadow Hyenas.

"Aura Blades!..."

The combination of Charge Skill and Orion's Claws Skills creates a new Skill called Aura Blades, which allows Luel to cast multiple sliver light blades that fly toward his opponent at the slash of his claws.

Luel's long-range attacks hit six of the Shadow Hyenas in front of him and destroyed five of them, which then turned into a dark fog.

Seeing that the 6th Shadow Hyena that got hit by his Aura Blades Skill didn't turn into a dark fog and got destroyed, Luel thought that it was probably the main body of the Rank D Ragnarok Beast.

Luel focused all of his attention on the 6th Shadow Hyena, knowing that if he defeated the main body, then all of its illusions would disappear.

"Charge! x Orion's Fangs! - Morph!..."

To finish his opponent, Luel activates another combined skill.

With the combination of Charge Skill and Orion's Fangs Skill, the silver light aura that engulfed Luel's body, which would usually take the form of a wolf head, became a complete silver light wolf that charged to devour the Shadow Hyena.

...CRUNCH!...

The sliver light wolf that Luel summons tears apart the 6th Shadow Hyena with its fangs and claws.

It should have been the end of the fight as Luel expected, but the 6th Shadow Hyena turns into a dark fog after getting devoured.

"Behind you, Lucent!"

...ROOAAARRRRR!...

SilverPup's warning came to Luel's ears at the exact moment that the main body of the Rank D Ragnarok Beast Shadow Hyena bit Luel's nape and decapitated his avatar, giving him instant death.
