The only human she could ever trust was a Woman named Meyra. After 7 years Keerla began working with Meyra on her Farm. Keerla had no choice But over time she liked her new work.
Chapter VI
on a sunny day in Meyra's Farm. Keerla was on a break with Meyra. "Hey Meyra, how's it going?"
"Oh, just another day on the farm. How about you, Keerla?"
"Same here. I can't believe we've been working on this farm for three seasons now."
"It's been a long haul, but I'm grateful to have you by my side. You've been such a big help."
"Aw, thanks Meyra. You've been a great friend too. It's not often that humans and elves get to work together like this."
"Yeah, I've learned a lot from you. You have such a green thumb! The way you take care of the crops is truly amazing."
"Haha, well it comes naturally to us elves. We have a deep connection to nature."
"That's for sure. I've noticed that everything you touch seems to thrive. I wish I had some of that magic."
"Oh, it's not magic. It's just a matter of understanding the plants and treating them with care and respect."
"I'll have to take your word for it. My skills lie more in the business aspect of things."
"And you're great at it! The farm has never been more successful."
"Thanks to you too, Keerla. Your hard work and dedication have been invaluable."
"It's been a pleasure working with you, Meyra. Here's to many more seasons on the farm!"
"Cheers to that, Keerla."
"Let's continue our work shall we"
They both head to the Stable. Meyra opens the door and Lets all the Animals go outside.
"Thanks for helping me with the animals, Keerla," Meyra said as they finished their tasks. "I couldn't do it without you."
"No problem, Meyra. It's always a pleasure to help out on the farm," Keerla replied with a smile. "I've grown to love this place and the animals. It's like a second home to me."
"I'm glad you feel that way," Meyra said, patting Keerla on the back. "You've become like a daughter to me, and I'm so grateful to have you here. I only wish I could have done more to help you find your way back to your own village."
Keerla's smile faded a little at the mention of her home. "I've tried many times to find a way back, but it's just not possible. I've accepted that this is where I belong now, at least for now."
"I understand," Meyra said, giving Keerla a hug. "But know that you'll always have a home here with me, and you're always welcome to stay as long as you'd like."
Keerla returned the hug, feeling a warmth and sense of belonging that she had never known before. She knew that she had found a family in Meyra and the farm, and she was grateful for that.
After a long Day at the Farm, they returned home. Keerla and Meyra were just settling down for the night, exhausted from their long day of work on the farm, when they heard a loud knock at the door. Keerla's heart raced as she wondered who could be knocking at such a late hour. Meyra, sensing Keerla's nervousness, placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "Don't worry, I'll go see who it is."
She made her way to the door and opened it to reveal one of the king's guards standing on the porch.
"Meyra, I apologize for disturbing you at this hour, but I have grave news," the guard said, his expression grave. "There has been an attack in Korral arena by a group of orcs. We are warning all citizens to stay inside and not venture out until further notice."
"Oh my goodness, that's terrible," Meyra said, her hand flying to her mouth in shock. "Don't worry, we will do everything in our power to protect you both," the guard assured them. "But for now, it is best to stay inside and keep a low profile."
With a nod, Meyra closed the door and turned to Keerla, her expression serious. "We need to be careful, Keerla. It's not safe to go outside right now. We'll just have to hunker down and wait for further instructions."
Keerla nodded, feeling a sense of fear wash over her. She had never experienced anything like this before and couldn't believe that such danger had come so close to her home. But with Meyra by her side, she knew that they would weather this storm together.
Meyra and Keerla slept next to each other.
Suddenly someone screams outside in fear. Meyra and Keerla were startled awake by the sound of a scream outside. They exchanged a worried look before Meyra quickly got up and made her way to the window.
Peering out, she saw a group of orcs running through the streets, causing chaos and destruction wherever they went. "Keerla, stay here," Meyra ordered, turning to the elf. "I'm going to see what's going on."
Keerla nodded, her heart racing as she watched Meyra grab her sword and head outside. She knew that she couldn't just sit there and do nothing, so she gathered her own weapons and followed Meyra out the door. Meyra hid behind a barrel as she watched the orcs killing the innocent Civilians. "Oh fuck what am I going to do. I'm nothing against these orcs."
Keerla was right behind her. Meyra moved closer to the orcs. When she got close she Saw something that made her heart pound faster than ever. She Saw the orcs raping the women of the village and cutting their parts and eating it. Meyra sobs. Keerla saw the horror on Meyra's face and knew immediately what she was seeing. Suddenly the King's guard arrive at the village. "The fucking orders are kill every orc You see if you want to Run away go ahead and fucking do!" said Lord commander Marlys. The knights charged at the orcs. Meyra watched in horror as the knights clashed with the orcs. She had never seen such violence before, and the sight of it made her stomach turn. Keerla grabbed her arm and pulled her back behind the barrel. "We have to get out of here," Keerla said urgently. "This is not a safe place for us."
Meyras nodded numbly, still unable to process what she had just witnessed. Keerla grabbed her hand and led her away from the village, running as fast as they could. They didn't stop until they were well away from the danger. When they finally stopped to catch their breath, Meyra fell to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably. Keerla wrapped her arms around her, trying to comfort her.
"It's okay, Meyra," Keerla said softly. "We're safe now. We're going to be okay."
But Meyra couldn't stop shaking. She had never seen anything so gruesome in her life, and the image of those poor women being brutalized by the orcs was burned into her mind. Keerla held her until her sobs subsided, and then helped her to her feet. "We need to keep moving," Keerla said gently. "We can't stay here in the open. It's not safe."
Meyra nodded, still too shaken to speak. She followed Keerla as they walked through the forest, trying to put as much distance between themselves and the village as possible. They walked for what felt like hours, until finally they came to a small clearing. "We can rest here for a bit," Keerla said, sitting down on a large rock. "I think it's safe."
Meyra collapsed onto the ground, tears streaming down her face. "I can't believe what just happened," she said, shaking her head. "I've never seen anything like that before. It was so brutal, so violent."
"I know," Keerla said, rubbing Meyra's back in a soothing gesture. "It's hard to see something like that, especially when it's so close to home. But we have to stay strong. We have to survive."
"How can you be so calm?" Meyra asked, looking up at Keerla with tears in her eyes. "How can you not be terrified?"
"I am terrified," Keerla admitted. "But I know that we have to keep moving, no matter how afraid we are. If we stay still, we'll just be sitting ducks. We have to keep going and find a way to survive."
Meyra nodded, taking a deep breath and wiping the tears from her face. "You're right," she said, standing up. "We can't give up. We have to keep fighting."
"That's the spirit," Keerla said, standing up as well. "now we have just to find a away to survive this night" said Meyra. Keerla nods. "I prefer not going so far so we cant Get lost in the forest."
"Lets Get moving shall we."
Keerla Smiles and nods. They started going deep inside the forest looking for a place to stay for the night.
