Chapter IX
Barlon and Leron were sitting in their room.
Leron Looks at Barlon. "You need to apologize to that girl Barlon."
Barlon sighs. "I'm not apologizing Mate it's not my thing"
"Why are You like this Barlon"
"Hm?"
"I mean since mother died You were not the same"
Barlon goes quiet. Barlon. Stands up and Leaves the room. Barlon heads to the Dining room He sits down and began eating. He started eating His food. Suddenly Ellyn sat In front of him. Barlon continued eating like no one was there. "So You are Barlon that I've been hearing about"
Barlon continued eating without even responding. "why is he so fucking ignorant" she said to herself. Ellyn sighed and crosses her arms. "as a princess I order You to look at me"
Barlon didn't give any responses. Ellyn gets Angry and slams the table. Barlon looks up at her with His sharp eyes.
Barlon's eyes narrowed as he looked at Ellyn. "What the fuck do you want from me?"
Ellyn's eyes widened at Barlon's response. She had not expected him to be so defiant, especially since he was just a knight. But as she looked at him, she saw the pain and anger in his eyes and realized that there was more to his story than she knew. "I'm sorry, Barlon," Ellyn said softly. "I didn't mean to disrespect you or make you angry. I just wanted to talk to you."
Barlon Smiles. "why do you want to Talk to Me?."
Ellyn shrugs. We are going to live at the same castle now so I figured out maybe we should Get to know each other Better"
Barlon shrugged indifferently. "I don't care one way or the other. It's not like it matters to me whether we get to know each other or not. I'm just here to do my job and that's it."
Ellyn's eyes narrowed as she looked at Barlon with anger. "Fine, if that's how you want it, then I won't bother trying to be friends with you. I don't need to be friends with someone who is so cold and indifferent. I have better things to do with my time." With that, she stood up from the table and stormed out of the dining room, leaving Barlon alone with his meal.
Barlon thanked the gods she left. He finishes His meal and Left for Training.
Leron Leaves His room and heads to the Dining room. As he was heading to the room. He saw Keerla alone in the corridor. He approaches her. "Hey, You are the girl from the other Day."
Keerla turns around to see Leron. "Oh hey, you are Leron right?"
"yes, and you are?
"I'm Keerla"
"Oh, Keerla. The name is Weird But I like it"
Keerla rolls her eyes. "Thanks for the compliment, I guess. I've always thought it was a bit strange too, but it's my name and I've learned to love it."
"Don't Get me wrong it is a good name I mean it's unique"
Keerla smiles. "Thank you, Leron. That's nice of you to say."
Leron hesitates for a moment before speaking. "Hey, would you like to join me for breakfast tomorrow morning? I usually eat early and I don't like to eat alone."
Keerla's face lights up. "I would love to! Thank you for inviting me."
"Great! I'll meet you here in the corridor at 6, sound good?" Leron says with a smile. "That sounds perfect, see you then." Keerla says, and both walk towards their own room with a good feeling.
The next morning, Leron woke up early and made his way to the corridor where he had arranged to meet Keerla for breakfast. As he arrived, he saw Keerla already waiting for him. "Good morning, Keerla," Leron said with a smile. "Ready for some breakfast?"
"Good morning, Leron. Yes, I'm starving," Keerla replied, her stomach growling in emphasis. The two of them made their way to the dining hall and sat down at a table together. "
"I've heard that your parents died and you have no one else," Keerla said, breaking the silence. "I'm so sorry to hear that. I can only imagine what it feels like."
Leron nods in agreement. "Thank you Keerla. I appreciate You being on my Side"
Keerla nods. "so what about your parents?" said Leron. Keerla immediately Remembered her parents in the Elven Village. "I Never knew my Father I suppose He is dead But I have my mother Meyra"
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that" said Leron. Keerla nodded. After they finished breakfast, they went to the training grounds. Keerla had never seen a training ground so large in her life. "I know you're not a knight, but I thought it might be interesting for you to watch us train. And who knows, you might even learn something." said Leron. Keerla's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That sounds great, Leron! I've never seen a training ground before, I'm sure it will be very educational."
As they approached the training grounds, they could see the other knights already training. Some were practicing with swords, others with bows and arrows. Keerla couldn't help but feel a little envious of the knights. They all looked so confident and capable, like they were truly meant to be warriors. Leron and Keerla stood on the sidelines and watched as the knights trained. Keerla was in awe at the skill and precision of their movements. "do you want to have a duel with me?" Leron asked. "I don't know"
"I won't force you if you don't want to it alright"
Keerla looked at Leron, considering his offer. "Well, I've never done anything like this before," she said. "But I'm willing to give it a try. What do I need to do?"
"First, you'll need a sword," Leron said, handing her a wooden training sword. "And you'll need to learn the basic moves. I can teach you if you want."
Keerla took the sword and held it tentatively. "I'm not sure I'm cut out for this," she said. "Nonsense," Leron said with a smile. "You just need some practice. I'll go easy on you at first."
Keerla grinned and took a practice swing with the sword. "Okay, I'm ready," she said. Leron nodded and stepped back, getting into a defensive stance. "Alright, let's start with some basic moves. First, you want to keep your sword arm straight, and your other hand should be on the hilt for support."
Keerla did as she was instructed, feeling a bit awkward but determined to do her best. Leron demonstrated a few moves, and Keerla did her best to imitate him. "You're doing great," Leron said encouragingly. "Now, let's see how you do against a real opponent."
Keerla's eyes widened, but she took a deep breath and stepped forward, her sword at the ready. Leron lunged at her, and Keerla quickly blocked his attack. "Good, good!" Leron said, as they continued to duel. "You're a natural at this."
Keerla couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of exhilaration as they continued to spar. "Maybe I am cut out for this after all," she thought to herself. As the training went on, Keerla is getting confident and improving her skills. "I might not be as good as the knights yet but I'm learning, I know I can do this" She thought. Leron smiled and clapped her on the back. "I knew you had it in you. With some more practice, you'll be ready to join the ranks of the knights in no time."
Keerla's face lit up at the prospect. "Really? I could be a knight?"
"Absolutely," Leron said. "With hard work and dedication, anything is possible."
Keerla nodded determined. "I will do anything to be a knight"
Leron smiles. "now that's the spirit"
Keerla blushes. Leron notices her. Leron's smile softened as he saw Keerla's blushing. He could sense that there was something more going on than just her excitement about training to be a knight. He wondered if maybe she had developed feelings for him. He couldn't deny that he was starting to develop feelings for her as well. She was determined, hardworking, and had a good heart. "Keerla, is everything okay?" Leron asked softly.
Keerla nods and mustered a small "Yes", but couldn't bring herself to look at Leron. "If there's something on your mind, you can tell me"
Keerla took a deep breath and looked up at Leron, her eyes meeting his. "Leron, I...I think I might have feelings for you," She said softly. he could see how much this meant to her and didn't want to hurt her feelings. He smiled warmly at her and took her hand in his. "Keerla, I care about you deeply as a friend and training partner. I want to see you succeed in your goal of becoming a knight. And who knows, maybe someday my feelings will change, but for now, let's focus on your training and see where things go."
Keerla smiled and nodded, feeling a little disappointed but understanding. "I understand, Leron. I just wanted to be honest with you about how I feel. And I'll do my best to focus on my training and become the best knight I can be." Leron smiles. "I'm sure You will be the Best knight"
Keerla smiles. Suddenly they saw a crowd of knights around something. "what the hell is happening there" Leron goes to check it. He went through the crowd to see His brother beating another knight.
