Chapter 17 - No way man

Contrary to what Bob thought Vile Island actually looked like a normal island. He could see marine ships docked at the port and other types of ships. The island looked much more prospering than Blacktown.

"So this is how other islands are."

Ash said as she stood next to Bob and gazed at the island.

"The world is large, not every island is the same. Not every place is prosperous."

Bob said.

Bob looked at John.

"What do you think, any pirate ships?"

Bob asked John because John used to be a marine so he could probably tell if a pirate ship was docked or not.

"No clue to be honest, not all ships look like pirate ships. Usually you'd tell by the sail, they'd have a jolly roger on them."

"That's true I guess. If they were wanted they wouldn't just dock in front of town, i'd be screaming 'capture me'."

"Yup. What do you plan on doing with the rest of the money you brought?"

John asked.

"Expand. Our main base is already being built, but we'd need branch area's as well. I think this island will do well as a branch area."

"I like the whole mysterious vibe we have with the tavern. You can't really tell it's our base of operations, you plan on doing the same thing here as well?"

"I'd like to, but I doubt we'd find another spot like that. If anything i'll open up a shop here or something and attached to it would be another speakeasy. That would lead to another room which is where business would be handled. We'd be putting up a front as a shop while hiding our real business."

"Sounds good. But, how would people give us request if they can't enter?"

Bob looked at John.

"You're starting to become like Dave."

John laughed.

"Anyways, I was thinking we'd open up a bounty house. People would come in and post request or retrieve request. That way no one would suspect anything, we'd have the bounties up of pirates that are wanted as well as bounties people put on people. We tell the people that come put in request that there is a fee, 40% of whatever the bounty is for putting it up in public. However, there won't be a fee if the bounty is given to the house instead. That way they'd be more inclined to give us their request than just posting them up."

"I see, we'd bring in more money that way. If they give it to us they won't be charged extra, but if they don't we'll charge them a certain percentage for hosting the bounty. The marines might not be too happy about it, but they'll be too busy dealing with pirates disrupting the town. Even if they were to enter, they'd just think all the wanted posters were that of pirates! Dang man, not a bad idea."

Bob grinned as he nodded his head.

Soon the ship reached the port of Vile Island. Bob left handling docking the ship to Jacob and his brothers as he got off the ship.

"I'm going to head into town and see if I can buy these guys some gear. They'd need weapons and such if they want to hunt down pirates. After that I plan to look for some, probably will find me in the tavern causing a little chaos."

John said as he took his five recruits with him.

"Alright, just be sure not to get arrested."

Bob said.

John laughed.

"I used to be a marine, I know how they think. They'll never catch me."

Bob looked at Ash.

"What about you?"

"It's my first time on another island, I think i'll do me a little shopping. If I find anyone that catches my eye i'll try to tell them about my tavern."

Bob nodded.

"Take Ron with you, he's silent but he can protect you in case anything happens."

"I don't think i'll need protecting…"

"You can't be too sure. Your a young woman walking the streets by herself, naturally people will be eyeing you. If they see you on a spending spree as well, you'll be a huge target."

"I guess you're right. I'll have to trouble you then Ron."

With everyone going their own way, Bob threw his backpack over his shoulders. He brought one from Blacktown before he left and just kept it inside his room. In it was the clothes he'd need to look like a marine.

The clothes were fitted for Vanthof so once Bob changed into that guy, these clothes would play a vital role.

However, before he went to visit the marine base Bob thought about looking around town first.

He'd hate to build a new building from scratch so maybe he could buy one. He'd also need to find someone to operate things here. Now was a time when he wished he had Dave here.

Too bad he couldn't have it all.

Bob strolled through town and looked at the different shopping districts. There were people who had stalls open on the street selling random items, some were even running a scam. This caused Bob to remember a scene from One Piece where an older man was trying to scam others with his golden apple. Saying they could live for 500 years.

Just remembering that caused Bob to laugh.

Bob ended up at a blacksmith. He could hear the pounding of metal on metal. He got curious and entered the shop.

Inside he saw a burly man with a long beard holding a large forging hammer. He kept striking the metal in a rhythm.

Bob became mesmerized at the sight.

He started looking around the shop, there were all sorts of weapons here. Swords, axes, spears, bows. The only thing missing was armor.

The pounding stopped and the man started to cool the weapon he was forging. He took off his gloves after putting the hot metal in some coolant and arrived at the front desk.

"What can I do for you today?"

"Just browsing is all. You create all these weapons but I don't see many people coming to buy. Busy not booming?"

Bob asked him.

"Wouldn't say that, today's just a slow day is all."

Bob pointed at a random sword on the wall and pretended he was interested.

"How much for this?"

"That? A million berry, that's my finest work of art. The others, range from 20 thousand to 600 thousand."

"Expensive!"

The burly man nodded his head.

"How much do you think this is worth?"

Bob asked as he pulled out Black Death.

Seeing the black blade, the burly man's eyes started to shine.

"Such craftsmanship, i've never seen anything like it! May I hold it?"

Bob nodded as he walked up to the counter and passed his sword to the man.

"I can't even tell what material is used in this, but the quality surpases all the weapons i've ever created. Is this one of the 12 Saijo O Wazamono?"

The man asked Bob as he started looking over the sword even more thoroughly.

"No, its something given to me from someone else. It's not one of the 12 supreme grade swords though."

Naturally it wasn't one of them, this was an item given to him by the system!

"I'd love to study this blade, I might be able to have a breakthrough in forging. What do you say? Let me study this blade for a few days?"

"No way man!"
