Gu Yan and Ye Jin stood in front of a hospital ward silently. After school had ended, Ye Jin had mentioned wanting to visit Ning Yin in the hospital, and Gu Yan had agreed to take her.
Gu Yan opened the door, and they both entered the quiet ward. The pungent smell of antiseptic filled the air, and the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor broke the silence. Ning Yin laid unconscious on the bed, his face extremely pale, as if life had been drained from him.
Ye Jin looked at him silently, a wave of melancholy washing over her.
Standing beside the hospital bed were Ning Dong and Yoo Sool. Their faces had lost all the vitality they usually had and were instead filled with weariness. When they saw Ye Jin and Gu Yan step into the ward, they went to receive them warmly, grateful smiles on their lips.
