A month passed, and the mission progress had risen to 30%. Ye Jin found herself growing closer to Gu Yan, mostly because he exhibited some characteristics that were similar to Shen Xue. At some point, she began to suspect that Shen Xue had transmigrated just like her, replacing the original Gu Yan. She tried probing him subtly, but he seemed clueless about everything.

Another thing was that Gu Yan made sure he was a constant presence in her life. He visited her every time he could, sometimes even sleeping over, though on the couch in the sitting room. Ye Jin knew that if he could, he would move in completely and live with her. She had also gone to Gu Yan's house once.
