Chapter 16: An Angel

Xavier's POV:

"Oh! That reminds me! I have some review materials. I can lend it to you, Xavi!" – he excitedly said.

"That's great. Thanks Rion." – I took the chance to pat his head, which turned out to be too soft for my wellness! I feel like Rion simply has no flaws, so perfect and beautiful.

He giggled and said, "I'll show you my review stash tomorrow! And I'll also give you my power boosters! They help me power through studying because it's so hard!" – he then pouted, "But you're gonna go home tomorrow." – this made my heart skip a beat.

"Are you gonna miss me?" – I anticipated his answer.

"Yes. Because I'm really reallyyyy happy when I'm with you" – he said as he hugged me.

I hugged him back. I'm torn, I don't want to impose and be rude. If I insist of staying for another night, what would his father and mother think of me? But I want to be with Rion for as long as I want.

"I'm sleepy now, Xavi." – he said in between yawns.

"Okay, let's sleep. Goodnight, Rion."

"Goodnight, Xavi." – he closed his eyes while mine remained open.

I stared at him, he is softly breathing. His face which is already gentle when smiling became softer when he closed his eyes. Maybe Rion is secretly an Angel, beautiful and kind. An Angel sent to save me. Maybe this happiness I am feeling is compensation for everything I've suffered. Then I don't mind indulging in this feeling.

In this life, I don't think I'll ever get tired of staring at him. Even when the clock struck 3 am and drowsiness assaulted me, the last picture that greeted me was him. This calmed my mind and made me sleep well, which I did not get for this past few years.

I woke up to this notification and the system's voice and soon realized that I've been confined!

"Xavi, Xavi! Let go! I'm gonna get up now." – it was Xavier who was confining me in his embrace, it must have been uncomfortable sleeping like that.

"Good morning Rion." – he smiled.

It was the 1st time that I've seen him smile. It kinda gratifies me as I know that what I do helps him become better.

"You look really good when you smile, Xavi! I like it!"

"Then I'll only smile for you in the future." – he solemnly promised.
