hello

He led me outside and showed me to an old abandoned warehouse. Except it wasn't about at the time. We didn't get too close but I could just about hear, there were people working there.

"They're part of your father's team. If we go to them, tell them who you are, you could be with him."

I looked from Steev to the warehouse. "But…my friends?"

He shrugged. "It's up to you. I won't be in control of it anymore. Would you rather we just went back and you stayed in London with them."

"No!..I mean yes…" I shock my head. This was so confusing.

"How about we just go over and tell them who you are. We'll see what happens next."

I thought, then nodded.

So we walked over to the warehouse, me staying directly behind him. With how much smaller I was, it was easy to stay hidden that way.

"Excuse me." He said, when we were close enough to one of them working outside. "But you work under Annubus Crugger, correct?"

"That's correct." A woman answered.

"And you are?" That was a man.

"Steev Carpenter. I used to know him."

"Ah. Yes, I think he mentioned you."

There was a pause in which Steev took a breath. "There's someone here he might like to see."

I took that as my signal to peer out from behind Steev and reveal myself. The man and woman acting looked a lot younger than I'd thought. Others were coming out of the wearhouse, presumably curious about what was happening. It didn't take too long for all eyes to move to me.

"Oh my god." One of the girls exclaimed, quietly.

"Is that…no, it can't be." A boy said.

All this made me anxious enough to try and hide behind Steev again but he put a hand on my back and encouraged me forwards.

The others were muttering to each other. "What was her name, again?"

"He said it once but I can't quite remember."

"It's Cynthia." Steev clarified.

"Yes, that was it."

One of the boys was shaking his head. "This is impossible." But another boy looked at him with a smile. "Well I think it's incredible."

"Would you like to see him?" The girl closest crouched down in front of me. "Would you like to see your father?"

I smiled somewhat anxiously and nodded slightly.

"I'll go call him right now." One of the boys ran back inside.

"Why don't you come on in?"

And for some reason that was what triggered me to say "I don't want to leave my friends."

The girl's smile faded but only a little before she shrugged. "That's ok. They can come over too."

Steevs hand, which was still on my back, started guiding me to get ready to leave. "Give us some time. We'll be back shortly."

I looked up at him while we were leaving. "How are we going to explain this to the others?" had he even thought of that? I certainly hadn't.

"You leave that to me."

Feeling like I didn't want to be there for that, I asked if I could go to the library instead of back to the house. He said I could as long I was back at the house within the hour.
