"He's waking up," an annoying voice ruined my dream of a sunny meadow. Swatting my hand to stop the alarm, like Selena did every morning, my palm landed on a person's boot.
Shocked at the unexpected object, I scrambled backward. Whilst I dragged myself a few feet away from the annoyance, my hands gloriously took in the rough earthen dirt beneath me.
No hologram could compare to the real thing, this was dirt, actual dirt.
Pushing aside my curious excitement, I let my eyes adjust to the dim light, noticing we were inside an empty circular tent with only a pole holding it up in the middle. I spotted two familiar faces from the direction I'd moved from. Lois and the Elf who had carried me.
"Would you look at that, I think you're scaring the kid?" The elf laughed exaggeratedly, whilst Lois kicked his shin. The elf did not even flinch.
"Hey, kid, you're not scared of me right?" Lois somewhat pouted as he placed his hands on his hip.
