Chapter 1 - Gods Playground

The introduction is quite long, sorry about that, you can just skip to Chapter 3 if you don't want to read it, you won't miss much.

„Where am I," Stephanie woke up in a white space. She remembered, that she was reading in her bed before and then everything turned black.

After looking around for a bit, Stephanie started to walk towards a small hut, she found in the distance.

She had been living in peace for her whole life, she had no sense of danger and didn't take her current situation very seriously. On the contrary, she was a bit excited for the chance of the unknown.

She had her hopes up to get a new life and was not entirely disappointed.

„Welcome Summoners to the Arena of Gods. Survive, overcome and strive for greatness. Do your best and we watch you try or die trying."

Stephanie was shocked about the sudden voice that sounded loudly in her head.

This same situation was currently unfolding for millions of humans that had passed the first test, that would later be called the great filter, and were chosen to represent humanity. All others were already eliminated. Only people with certain physical criteria passed, disposing of billions of humans.

„Who are you?" Stephanie moved back quickly. She was surprised, as a black humanoid shape emerged out of the shadows.

[It does not matter what or who I am or what I am. I was chosen to introduce you to your new home.]

The figure pointed in the void as a map of an unknown world appeared. Followed with containers of a mass of black, obstructing the view to what was behind.

[Before we start, let me introduce the Arena of Gods. It is a fused World, currently made out of about 1.568 different Worlds, some with intelligent life and some with just mere bea sts as inhabitants.

Each world has their own rules, as such you may feel like things that were previously known as fantasy have come to be an existing phenomena in this universe.]

„So things like magic exist," wondered Stephanie as she was very excited about the prospect of magic and the possibilities. Although there were many thoughts in her mind about the newfound knowledge, her main thinking was about the prospect of using Ice magic to cool down in the summer, as she hated the heat and loved the cold.

[Yes indeed, it would however be a waste to use them for such petty things, which you are currently thinking about.]

[Everyone, that will be transported into this world will have a few wishes granted. The wishes can range from abilities also called traits to body modification or even immense wealth. Every being has the possibility to gain 2-6 wishes. The criteria for getting them is unknown. You are granted 5 wishes, as long as they don't overlaps. If you wish to be the smartest person in this world and someone else did the same, the one doing so earlier will be granted the wish and you will lose yours without gaining anything. Only after that persons death will others have the possibility to wish it again.

A friendly reminder, if you are out of ideas, think of abilities you have encountered in games or books. They can be very inspiring.

„Alright let me think a bit," Stephanie was excited but she didn't know what to wish for as it would be very important for her future.

[You have 10 min left to decide. All remaining wishes will perish.]

„Shit," Stephanie panicked as she only had ideas for 2 or 3 wishes.

„Alright first, I want to be smart enough to be able to do deal with anything in this World an ' d create new things myself without having to dedicate years of work into it!"

[Your wish will be granted now, the timer will be stopped. Your evolution will begin now.]

Before Stephanie could even react a soft but sturdy material wrapped itself around her, dulling her senses to a minimum and making her unable to move.

[Time skip 3 hours]

„I can feel my thought process being faster than before, its impressive. I should use the remaining time to think about the last 4 wishes, I wont have much time left when I get out of here." Stephanie made up her mind, as she began concentrating to further polish her plans for her wishes.

„F*CK, finally out," Stephanie couldn't do anything all the time but swear in her mind.

[Welcome back miss, we shall now continue, the timer: 7:29 minutes are remaining.]

„Alright," Stephanie knew that she would slightly waste her wish for the second part of it, but she knew she had no choice. I would become a great asset in the future and was the best ability for her use currently.

She had problems with learning, as such memorising things easier would give her an easier time.

„I want to have an enhanced memory, where I am able to store and suppress memories and emotions. Similar to a library where I can just search for a theme and I will find what I'm looking for."

She wanted it to be as easier than finding novel with certain genres.

[Understood, you will be able do claim your wish at the end of your choosing or earlier, I want to go home as well, I still have work to do and have no interest in Babysitting you any further. Continue with your 3rd wish. You have 5:35 minutes remaining.]

„I wish to have the ability to use the knowledge of the Novels I once read, the complete ones from when the stories became worlds." Stephanie wasn't sure about her hypothesis being correct, however she had to try as it would be the best wish she could currently use.

With this ability and her enhanced brain and memory, creating advanced technology wouldn't be much of a problem. She would even be able to go as far as build spaceships if this world allowed it.
