Proud wanderer

I wander under the heavens, the sins of the past, I leave in the past, my enemies shall go scot-free if they have only hurt me in the past, but if they continue to the present day, I can't say the same

The remaining two months were spent with Yan getting closer to Ling, though she couldn't decide if he was the boy. She thinks he is really a good person. Today marks the day that will complete her year-long stay. She would have loved to maybe extend it for a few more days, but then who knows if her grandpa won't be preparing to head out now to look for her. She knows how the old man could be. Yan looked at Ling as Ling spread his arms, feeling the air. "Should I leave without saying goodbye?" Yan thought to herself. She is really finding it a bit difficult to decide. Maybe she has gotten too close within these two months. "Well, it is said some people are forever to be people you meet in passing. Maybe he and the young master years back is one for me," Yan said as she forced a smile. "Thanks," Ling turned to say to Yan with a smile. "For what?" Yan asked totally surprised by the thanks. "For always following me and listening to my rabbles. I think I kept my sanity till now because you showed up. You know, two months ago, my heart was turning really dark," Ling said with a smile. Hearing him, Yan felt a bit bad. She had stayed with him for her own reasons, and he has opened up to her because maybe he has taken her as a close friend, but now she is about to leave without even saying goodbye. "It will really be hard to say goodbye," Yan said to herself before speaking out. "You don't need to say thank you. It was fun being with you too." Hearing her, Ling could only smile. "Let's go," Ling said. "You should go, I will need to go get something," Yan said. She thinks it will be best not to say bye to Er Xi and Ling, as for her work payment? She never really needs them. "Okay, I will be heading back now," Ling, who didn't suspect anything, said as he started leaving. Looking at him leave, Yan suddenly felt a strong sense of loss, but then she smiled and turned to leave. Some people are made to be met once on the road, while some are made to be forever partners.

The rest of Ling's day went normal. Him returning directly to his room after returning stopped him from noticing Yan hadn't returned, and Er Xi, not wanting to disturb now that she thought both are bonding up together, made her not come ask him of her.

Late that night, Ling was in his room. He had just retired to his bed when he noticed someone trying to open his room door. It was not Er Xi; it was a man, so he immediately got up from the bed, slowly drawing the window open and scaling it. Any other person might have waited to know who it is, but then Ling's years of studying humans helped him read most human character and behavior. The movement of the person at the door seemed totally not good, and he had decided to take action without confirming. Only Er Xi opens his door without knocking or anything, and the person trying to open the door without knocking or anything has immediately spelled danger in Ling's heart. "Who should it be now? The caretaker?" Ling asked himself questions. The caretaker had been showing his hands more lately.

The assailant that was at the door finally made his way in, only to notice nobody was in, but with the window being opened, guessed that Ling must have noticed him and decided to escape from there. "How fast can his reasoning be?" the dude said with a smile. He was the same guy that worked out in the shadow to talk to the caretaker way back. His name is Su Ming.

Su Ming scaled the window and gave chase too. It had been decided that Ling dies tonight. The caretaker had somehow entered into an alliance with the two servants sent to the cultivation sect, and they had told him how Ling's parents were long dead. Though they didn't spill the information of Ling being from the Ming tribe so as to not implicate themselves, the already released info was enough for the caretaker to feel free on disposing Ling. Within these five years, Lan Inn has gotten a branch, and he has been moved to the branch by Er Xi. It was on the branch that he has started making plans. He has sent a lot of the inn earnings to the two and has promised them a lot of resources for cultivation before they entered into the alliance. Not that Ling and Er Xi hadn't been supporting the two cultivations; they have, but human nature and greed has made the two feel they should swallow everything. They think they shouldn't be under Ling, who is totally weak.

Ling, who had landed was about to run and not head towards Er Xi in order not to implicate her. However, knowing that if this was the work of the caretaker, Er Xi would also be in trouble, he decided to turn back and head into the inn. Actually, scaling his window would lead him directly out of the inn, so now he needed to head back.

Tud! Su Ming, who had scaled the window, landed too. Seeing him land, Ling knew there was no way he could head back in. Maybe this was it, the end of his pitiful life. He didn't feel bad, but he thought Er Xi deserved better.

"Don't worry about her, I have already decided to take care of her after I am done with you," Su Ming said with a smile.

Hearing this, Ling gritted his teeth before making up his mind. Since he wanted to deal with him first, maybe he would try to buy some time for Er Xi to notice something was wrong.

"You must be from the caretaker since you want to deal with us both, anyway, keep up," Ling said as he turned and fled. Maybe if he could survive till morning, he would buy time for Er Xi.

Seeing him flee, Su Ming became happy. He loved the feeling and loved it when those he deemed prey ran. He followed up at first, thinking Ling would soon get tired. But Ling kept covering street after street, running into an enclosed space never happened for once. To Ling, the whole outer part of Weixen was his room. He had used five years to cover all the areas, even repeating some paths more than fifty times. And his stamina? Who was he in the first place? He was the kid who stood for fifteen hours when his parents died.

The chase continued, though Su Ming was a martial arts practitioner, which was the only reason he could keep up to this extent. Ling didn't seem anything normal. He might be weak, but his escape was top-notch.

The two had almost covered all the outer parts of Weixen, with only a few remaining. "The only place he might not follow me up to is Demon heart graveyard," Ling who hasn't been there before due to the dangers associated with there thought to himself as he makes plan
