First Outpost

Zeke stayed calm and looked carefully at the situation at hand Zeke addressed the group.

"Listen, everyone, we will need to work as a group if we want to survive. You will need to take care of the low-level zombie horde or at least keep them distracted."

Zeke looked at Sarah. "I will need you to fight the two level 15 zombies. Do you think you can take them with that sword you got from the green treasure orb we got?"

"Yes, I will fight them and try to keep them busy while you fight the leader. Good luck this will be rough." Sarah said with a strange glint in her eyes.

'She is right this is still going to be a rough fight' Zeke thought before he dashed toward the level 25 Zombie that was behind the pack. He killed a few of the weaker zombies as he passed.

With his agility now at above 40 he was able to get a quick attack off on the shield zombie's lower leg while making his way to the level 25 zombie.

'I hope this can help her hold them off a little longer while I focus on the leader.'

As the group of students started to fight the lower-level zombies a small group of students noticed how easily their fellow students and teachers were getting torn apart and bitten by the zombies.

This terrified the group and when they saw everyone distracted from fighting the zombies, they used this chance to try to leave through the door that they used to enter the gym.

[Error cannot leave the mini-game until it is complete.]

"Fuck the doors are locked we can't leave." Josh, one of the students said angrily while pounding on the gym door.

Meanwhile, Sarah tried to use the advantage that Zeke created when he passed by and end the shield zombie first while its focus was on Zeke, but as she closed in for the kill the runner zombie was able to use its quick agility and blocked the attack.

Resulting in losing one of its arms the runner zombie was pushed backward, but this caused the shield zombie to join the fight as it swung its shield connecting against Sarah's body which sent her flying into a nearby volleyball net breaking her fall.

As the fight between Sarah and the Runner zombie and Shield zombie progressed she was not able to hold her ground due to how fast the runner zombie's agility was.

Using her quick mind she concluded she needed to bait the runner zombie into one of the side rooms that were much smaller where she could limit the zombie's movements.

Once Sarah was able to use this advantage she landed a clean hit on the runner zombie, but it was not enough to slice its leg off.

On the other side of the gym, Zeke was punched causing him to be thrown backwards into a nearby wall.

As Zeke slowly fell down to the floor an enormous dent could be seen left behind.

Zeke struggled to get back up as he tried to dig deep into his strength reserves despite the multiple broken ribs he could feel as he stood up.

Blood could be seen dripping from the corner of his lips.

This fight was getting out of hand quickly and he was already injured.

Zeke was able to get a clean hit against the upper thigh of the zombie before taking that massive hit.

Although it seemed like the zombie can't feel pain Zeke was able to tell the zombie's movement was slowed down due to that hit.

As the fight continued progressing between the humans and the zombies.

The students and teachers were suffering heavy losses due to not having sufficient weapons to kill the low-level zombies, only a few had knives but one student in the back rows was equipped with a bow.

He was able to pick off the lower-level zombies and re-use the arrows after he killed them.

This was the main reason the students and teachers weren't already dead.

Andrew just received a few arrows that were lodged into the heads of the zombies he killed when he saw the fight happening between Zeke and the Berzerker zombie.

Andrew noticed the large zombie slowed down to the point where he was able to see the moves between the two.

Before when he glanced over he was only able to see two blurry figures moving around.

Andrew then got into the best spot to use a skill he picked up earlier from a book after killing the zombie in his room.

After he found the best angle, Andrew grabbed an arrow and looked for the perfect timing to be able to fire the arrow when the zombie was distracted by Zeke.

Seeing that the zombie had its back turned towards Andrew, he fired the arrow at the head of the Bezerker zombie.

The zombie noticed something was amiss at the last second and was able to slightly change its movement and dodged the arrow.

Due to how the zombie dodged instead of taking a lethal arrow to the back of the head it ended up taking the hit in its back.

While he fought the leader zombie Zeke noticed some differences between this zombie and the other low-level zombies but seeing the zombie be able to dodge the arrow that was aimed at the back of his head without seeing it confirmed Zeke's thoughts.

'This zombie can sense his surroundings and use basic-level thinking. I need to end this as soon as possible.'

Zeke noticed the hit caused the zombie to be unbalanced falling towards him and took advantage of this opportunity where for the first time in the fight he used the rest of the strength he had

Zeke took his bat and was able to smash the head of the Berzerker zombie that was falling forward toward him.

Multiple level-up notifications popped up, causing Zeke to have a slight grin as he looked over at Andrew.

Zeke walked over to him to give his thanks, but a loud bang drew his attention toward his right.

Before he could react Sarah collided into him which caused him to take a few steps back as he caught her.

As soon as the grin came it went as Zeke realized the fight was not over.

Even though he had lost a lot of blood and had multiple broken bones Zeke looked at the hole in the wall at the two level 15 zombies while he laid Sarah on the floor.

After Sarah was safely laid down Zeke dashed toward the two zombies with his bat in his hand, a fierce determination in his eyes, Zeke swung his bat with all his might at the first zombie, knocking it off balance.

He quickly followed up with a swift kick to the knee, causing it to buckle and collapse to the ground.

The runner zombie tried to sneak attack Zeke from behind, but before it was able to land its strike Andrew already predicting the movement fired an arrow into the remaining arm and then a second arrow into its head.

Taking advantage of the situation, Zeke continued his attack and delivered a final blow to the shield zombie's head.

Despite his injuries and mental fatigue, Zeke had rushed over to check on Sarah.

Relieved that she still had a pulse and no zombie bites or scratches Zeke collapsed to his knees, the pain and exhaustion finally catching up to him.

Andrew used his remaining arrows and picked off the few low-leveled zombies that were left.

After the fight was over and there were no more threats the remainder of the group fell exhausted due to the long battle.

At this time Zeke and the rest of the group got a message in their eyes.

[Zombies remaining: 3]

[Please finish the remainder of the zombies to complete the mini-game.]

"I'm pretty sure all the zombies are dead." Zeke said confused while double-checking his surroundings.

"These three have bite marks on them." Andrew said while pointing at the two boys and one female that were part of the group that tried escaping during the fight using the door.

Zeke stood up and walked over to the group while he grabbed a knife off the floor.

Everyone looked at him and wondered what he would do.

Once Zeke reached the trio he handed the knife to one of the students. "Use this to end your life before you change into one of them."

The boy frowned and started to cry "I-I still want to live."

When Zeke turned around to walk away the boy's frown quickly turned into a smile and he lept up and tried to stab Zeke in the back.

Zeke was able to turn around in time but had to use his hand to catch the blade. Zeke held the blade and looked at the student that now peed his pants terrified his sneak attack didn't work.

"S-s-sorr-sorry I ...." before he could finish Zeke let go of the knife and quickly snapped the student's neck.

Zeke then apologized and before they could even say a word he quickly killed the last two.

Leaving everyone else stunned and terrified by how easily he killed them without batting an eye.

After Zeke walked back over to his spot and sat down again quietly thinking about what needed to be done.

'We are in the apocalypse now I cannot double think these useless things, it needed to be done sooner or later.' Deeply in thought about how he took his first human life with his own hands. While in his thoughts trying to adjust to this brand-new world.

Before he could further get lost in his thoughts he was interrupted by another message popping up.
