4. Families and Hiking

Today has been hectic and exhausting, but at least we could eat the deer for a few days, of course it's "we" now .

I had automatically started a family now, funny thing is I have a daughter which I don't even know her name.

It just didn't occur to me to ask her, I watched as the afternoon breeze pulled her hair back and forth, I was looking at her as she walked towards the wooden pavement I was standing on.

"Uhh can I ask you something?"

"Yea sure, what's up?"

"How come no one comes here at all?

I paused for a moment, she was right none does come here.

I had found this place when I was hiking and since I wanted to getaway from civilization I thought, why not? so I built a house here in the middle of the woods....crazy right?

"Hikers come here often but they haven't, been around for a while"

"Oh, so you are all here by yourself?"

"You've been around for some days kiddo, am sure you got the answer to that question"

"What's the place called anyway? even Alexi couldn't..

"Who's Alexi?"

She looked scared now, had I said something wrong? Something related to what happened to her?

"No one"

"But you just said..."

"I said no one!"

"Okay, kid time out!, I don't know who you are or what happened to you that landed you in my Homeland but I suggest you show some respect at least for the hospitality I show you. This is the last time..no snapping at me!"

I watched as the dark glow covered her eyes, before she masked it and sighed

"Fine"

I felt guilty afterwards which annoyed me, cos I was the victim here..maybe not entirely but you get the picture.

Knight's

it's Wednesday, so annoying, we'll be leaving for Alana today, I got out of bed, brushed my teeth had a really long bath and settled to dress for the 'trip'.

My alarm showed that the time was 7:00, bus leaves at 8:05. I packed all that I would need in my box.

I carried almost every electronic gadget I owned, ranging from phones to pad to laptop, if there's one thing I knew about traveling is that you gotta be prepared, especially if you're going to an utterly boring and far place, and boy did I know the place in mind.

Caleb would be staying at a friend's house, seen as mom wasn't home as a norms this past few day.

I had to ensure Caleb eats on time, sleeps on time does his assignments and doesn't miss his parents too much. luckily, I had my own car,a blue Airline or so I called it.

It was a gift from my old man, am surprised he didn't take it with him.

Now I have to drive to school, find where to leave it and get on the fucking bus.

Alexander

It was 8:00 by the time I got to school, Gosh! I had woken up late, everyone was already seated and Mr.Brown was standing looking dishelved- obviously tired of waiting.

"Alexander, you're late"

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't wake up on time, I've no excuse"

"That is an excuse"

"I'm sorry sir"

He scanned me up and down, I was getting impatient for waiting for so long as the two bags I was carrying was weighing me down.

"Mr. Alexander I do not tolerate tardiness

but for now get into the bus and take your seat, we shall discuss your punishment when we arrive back"

I sighed..."Yes sir"

I was already halfway through the bus before I answered, Knight left me a seat next to him. despite obvious protect from Jacqueline, well that's a relief.

I slowly closed my eyes and drifted, it was almost noon before I woke up to the gentle tapping of someone beside me.

"Urghh"

"Dude we're here"

"Ok"

Knights

As we walked through the thorn bush path, I had a creepy feeling bout this place something felt completely off.

"Students, today you shall experience nature and environment"

"Argh, sir is this place even inhabited"?

"I don't know Mr.knight it's up to you find out, it's 10:25 by 12:45 we'll catch up for lunch...enjoy"

After leaving us to nature and utter boredom, the hiking began.

Xander seemed relax and comfortable, Jacq was being careful not to get stained, she winked at me and i smiled wryly back. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, it's not like I wasn't, it's just that now I feel some strange weird connection to some being, I had started sweating now and my temperature had considerably gone up.

I took out the water In my backpack and drank from it, it stilled me a little bit but nothing, even though the weather wasn't that hot I was sweating so much, and my sides itched.

Alexander's

The weather was nice, so far we haven't really found anything but the breeze and chirping and singing of birds was delightful I was starving but I had to wait another 20 minutes to eat. I looked over to my side and saw Knight sweating so much, no that's not good.

I know something is wrong with him, his pace had slowed down and I walked closer to him...damn! he was sweating harder than before, it is midday and the sun Is usually hot...but his sweat was just too much.

"Knight, are you okay?"

He didn't respond at first and I was feeling kinda weird about this, thank God we're

far from any prying ears.

"Knight, talk to me"

"Xander, sorry man I think I was sleep walking"

I rolled my eyes at his comment, really sleep walking by 12:35 in the afternoon, I don't buy that.

"I'm not stupid knight, what the heck is really going on?"

"Honestly man I don't know but this place is no good for me"

I shivered when I saw the look in his eyes... knights was scared asin Knights is scared, there's some serious batshit cray going on around here.
