CHAPTER-11

"The Black star is the symbol of the Vermillion Brotherhood. The Vermillion Brotherhood was known as the Eagle Blood, but when a new assassin took over, the confraternity changed her name.

Of all the assassin confraternities existing today, the Vermillion Brotherhood is the most mysterious and deadly. It members are regarded to as anonymous, and their deals are made in secret. Like the Order of Aramoth, anyone who sees a member of the Vermillion Brotherhood is to die.

The Black star like I said earlier isn't just a symbol, it is a real star. Just like the Order of Aramoth draw their power from the full moon, the Vermillion Brotherhood draw their power from the Black star, which has a very rare occurrence.

Let me tell you the story of a witness who survived the attack of the Vermillion Brotherhood on the night of the Black star."

"Master how do you know so much stories about these things?" Yin Chen asked.

"I'm a Watcher." Yao Lan answered his disciple.

"What's a Watcher?"

"That is another story for another time." Yao Lan replied. "Let's just focus on the story at hand."

Yin Chen nodded slowly.

"There was girl..."

...

"That's not possible!" Hui San shivered, "He destroyed the effects of the Yin Submission Soul pill!'

"What!" Qui Bei exclaimed, "How is that possible?"

"I don't know." Hui San replied. "We have to get out of here!"

"Hui San wait!" Qui Bei noticed something peculiar about Long Qiao, "The colour of his fighting qi is different."

Hui San looked at Long Zhi and confirmed that what Qui Bei said was the truth.

Normally, the colour of a cultivator's fighting qi is usually yellow, but Long Qiao radiated qi that had the colour of blue.

"The Qi of the Dragons?" Hui San mumbled in bewilderment.

"What?" Qui Bei asked.

"Haven't you read the Dragons Chronicle?" Hui San replied.

"No, I haven't."

"Dragons of the ancient times had blue qi." Hui San said.

"If that is so, does that mean the Long sect are really Progenies of the Dragons?"

"Probably." Hui San replied.

Long Qiao's body emitted qi of blue colour, and his eyes were slowly turning white.

"I have to admit, he looks quite scary." Hui San confessed.

Hui San and Qui Bei were already on the verge of falling into fear, but neither of them were ready to give in yet. The next occurrence was so scary that it threw Qui Bei and Hui San into the fiery pits of paranoia.

All of a sudden, Long Qiao's forehead began growing a pair of horns, and his hair turned a bright white colour, and from his facial expressions, one could conclude that he wanted to kill!

"We have to get out–" Before Hui San could finish talking, a sword plunged into his heart and killed him in an instant.

Qui Bei on the other hand shivered in fear as Long Qiao approached him. Out of the blue, a red sword flew into Long Qiao's shoulder and made it bleed.

"Hahaha." A woman's laughter filled the area. "Long Qiao, it's time to die."

"You are underestimating the power of a Dragon Progeny." Long Qiao spoke with a frown.

"Catch me if you can, hahaha." The woman continued laughing.

Long Qiao knew she was in the area, but, he couldn't see her because she was moving very fast, faster than the human eye could catch.

"Spotted." Long Qiao muttered as he raised a finger into the air and released a little energy blast that flew into the air and knocked the woman.

"Ah!" A scream of terror escaped from the woman's throat as she fell to the ground, crying.

"I guess laughter has turned into pain." Long Qiao grinned a little.

The name of the woman was Su Yin, typically called the Red Sword. "What did you do to me? I can feel my inside burning up!"

"I shot a portion of my Dragon energy into your body. It'll kill you slowly." Long Qiao smiled. "But what's the point, I could end the pain for you in just a couple of seconds."

"No! No! No!" Su Yin shouted, but Long Qiao paid no heed to her words.

He raised his hands slightly into the air and snapped his finger. As he did that, Su Yin exploded. Her remains could be seen scattering all over the place.

Qui Bei's mouth widened in shock. Long Qiao had just killed one of the most formidable members of the Elimi. Su Yin was a strong and beautiful woman. She wasn't just a woman to Qui Bei, she was his life. He had developed feelings for her over the years.

"Long Qiao!" Qui Bei roared out as he charged at his friend. "I will kill you for what you just did!"

"Fine come." Long Qiao mumbled as he called for his sword.

Qui Bei was fast, but Long Qiao was faster. They swooshed passed each other, and stopped in opposite directions. The breeze slowly swept up the grasses in the area, and time seemed to have slowed down a bit.

Qui Bei turned to face Long Qiao thinking he had inflicted an injury on him. Long Qiao slowly shifted his head to gaze at Qui Bei as a smile formed on his face.

Qui Bei noticed the smile on Long Qiao's face, and he understood what it meant immediately.

"Your arm," Long Qiao paused, "it's gone."

Qui Bei looked at his left arm only to discover that it was missing. His heart sank as fear started to cloud his mind. The pain he was supposed to feel before didn't come until now.

"Ah!" He shouted in despair. "My arm!"

"It's right over there." Long Qiao pointed at the bloody arm lying a few metres away. "I would really love to see your head in the same position."

"I will kill you!" Qui Bei roared.

"With what? Your right arm?" Long Qiao laughed. "You're fucked, and there's nothing you can do."

At that, Long Qiao launched himself at Qui Bei hoping to chop off his head, but was thrown back by an invisible force.

"Show yourself!" Long Qiao spoke.

Suddenly, black fog gathered in front of Qui Bei as it slowly morphed into Yin Zhen, the daughter of the Yin Lord. In her hands, was a sickle that looked as it came directly from hell.

Long Qiao stood his grounds, "Are you here to stop me?"

"Hahaha," Yin Zhen laughed, "I know I'll loose if I make an attempt to do so. It seems like the Long sect are actually the progenies of the dragons."

"It's too late now, you're dead!" Long Qiao replied.

"I'm not here to stop you, I'm not going to, someone else will." Yin Zhen grinned.

"Let me guess, your father."

The skies began to darken as thunder stormed them. Black fog fell from the skies and smashed into Long Qiao, sending him flying into a wall. The black fog morphed into a man. The man's right hand formed a fist that rested on the ground. One of his knees was raised so as to touch his chin with his leg in a vertical position. His other knee touched the ground with his leg parallel to the ground. His pose was one that radiated an aura of forebodingness and doom.

This man was the Yin Lord, one of the many dangerous forces of the Yin sect. His name was...

...

"Her name was Ha Yueyan, daughter of Ha De, who was wealthy merchant living in Xinlei province. Ha De had gotten into a scuffle with a weathier man who had connections to the Vermillion Brotherhood Confraternity.

As rich men say in Xinlei, 'The best way to get rid of a competitor, is to get rid of the competitor.' The weathier man hired the Vermillion Brotherhood to get rid of Ha De. The following day, Ha De was dead, and so were the rest of his entire family with exception of Ha Yueyan.

The Vermillion Brotherhood don't just kill their target, they kill anyone and everyone present with their target. Hearing that there was a bug in their mission, the brotherhood decided to track down the bug. The bug I'm talking about is none other than Yueyan.

Ha Yueyan was scared, she was lonely and she was hungry. She ran for days, but as nature makes it, a person can't run from their greatest nightmare forever. The vermillion brotherhood soon caught up with her. The lonely girl stood in the middle of an aisle of houses.

On the rooftops of the houses, were her nightmares, the vermillion brotherhood! Her heart thumped as if it was going to explode out of fear. She glanced at the three men standing on the rooftops as the droplets of rain beat her face.

The men jumped down from the rooftops. As they landed on the watery ground, water scattered around, forming ripples were they landed. The men slowly approached her with swords in their arms. She was so scared that she fell to the ground shivering.

"Please! Don't kill me!" She said.

One of the men unsheathed his sword and raised it into the air and as he was about to strike, the girl spoke in a low tone, "God of Fire, please protect me. Vuna Hai Vunai."

The man's sword stopped as he looked into the girl's eyes, "Who are you?"

Still no comments, But it's okay. I'll keep writing anyway.

Vuna Hai Vunai, I wonder what it means.
