Dao Soul

Lui Marime narrowed her eyes at Fu Shen hearing him speak her terrible nickname to which he nervously laughed and began to introduce her and Wo Shie.

Wo Shie was already next to him making the introduction easier, he stood up from the table and nudged Wo Shie to stand up as well.

"Wo Shie this is the Immortal ter… *cough* the immortal Lui Marime a Descendent of one of the 12 Origin God's families, and this is my first and last disciple Wo Shie." Fu Shen said while gesturing toward each person respectively.

Lui Marime nodded and said with a smile that could break apart any happy home, " It's nice to meet you young Wo Shie i hope it won't trouble this junior to come have a chat with me."

Wo Shie was wary of people especially those he didn't know. The last person other than Fu Shuo that he'd met tried to kill him and claimed to be the murder of his family. How could he be open and willing to meet with and talk to just anyone.

He looked towards Fu Shen who was nodding with a smile saying without words he could trust her, looking back towards Lui Marime he could her smile slowly receding as if she understood something.

"I understand of this junior doesn't trust me I'm not aware of what his past is like but I swear on my dao soul I mean no harm to this child." Lui Marime said with a serious tone and expression.

Fu Shen was shocked because he knew the depth of the oath she just took was. To swear on one's dao soul was equivalent to putting everything on the line. If one was to break an oath sworn on their dao soul not only would they die painfully in a nightmarish tribulation their soul too would be destroyed effectively erasing their existence.

The matter of oaths made on a dao soul only came to light after certain inheritances were found. These inheritances had left behind many treasured and also many cracked soul jades along with written documentation of people that were completely unknown by everyone in existence.

Prior to the discovery of these inheritances dao oaths were widely known and made to secure and solidify political relationships and even solve disputes. The thought was that after making an oath if one was to break it they'd simply die.

However with the new light these inheritances brought it made known that these people entire existence was removed from the world as every fragmented piece of their soul along with their soul was completely erased and they were forgotten to life.

It was a simple matter to connect the dots once they came across these figures inheritances and documented life events by themselves. Once the truth of the dao soul oath was known the weight they carried couldn't even be said as 10 times more important. If someone were to swear an oath on their dao soul, they would revered for the strong will they had behind whatever reason they had to make the oath.

"Wo Shie go with her your safety is guaranteed." Fu Shen said absentmindedly trying to grasp why an immortal from one of the 12 origin god's families would find it necessary to put her existence on the line just for a conversation.

While he was trying to wrap his head around what she could possibly want with Wo Shie, Wo Shie was just confused he didn't know what a oath on one's dao soul was and didn't really care he just wanted to know if it was safe or not so he asked.

"Are you sure it's safe to go with her isn't it suspicious for her to swear on her soul just to talk to me?" Wo Shie asked still hesitant he didn't want to end up in another sticker situation where death is nothing but assured.

Fu Shen face palmed realizing Wo Shie Didn't know the gravity of what Lui Marime just did was. To make a dao oath on your soul in regards to another living being or any entity for that matter would inexplicably link their fates.

"She's basically putting her life on the line just for your trust… no not her life if she breaks the oath she just made she will no longer exist, everyone will forget she ever existed for that matter." Fu Shen said the words coming out of his mouth only making what just happened and what Lui Marime just did more real giving him chills.
