Chapter 65 : Accidents

*Matthew's POV*

I walked back through the balcony doors and was instantly swarmed with the sounds of the music and the people talking.

It was too much.

My fight with Trinity had put me on edge even more, and I couldn't stand the extra noise. I saw Trinity's mom turn to look at me, but before she could make a move, I walked out of the building.

If I let her talk to me, then I would end up getting sucked back into the whole night. And pretending to be good with a girl all night when we really weren't was something that I didn't want to do.

I had enough experience of that over the years with Anne, and Trinity and my relationship wasn't for show like that one.

I couldn't stay still. Trinity might come to talk to me, and I really just didn't want to have that conversation at our engagement party. It was bad enough already, I didn't want to make it worse. Maybe if I could just get away for a bit, we could both calm down enough to make it through this night.
