Chapter 53 : Leave Nothing to Chance
*Matthew's POV*
I watched as Trinity walked out of my office at the end of the workday, still feeling the heat from our kiss goodbye. People had warned me that after a baby, passion dies in a relationship, but Trinity and I were clearly an exception.
Our passion didn't truly begin until we had a baby.
And that was just fine with me, so long as I got goodbye kisses like that. It was the highlight of my day…especially on days like this when I had to stay late.
Technically, I was the boss, I didn't have to do anything. But with all of this drama going on surrounding Christiana, I wanted to be caught up and have all of my bases covered. Even if that meant missing out on the best part of the evening with Michael and Trinity.
Because I knew that this trial would occupy most of my time for the upcoming days.
The real relief I had was the fact that Michael was too little to understand what was going on, and that we wouldn't allow him in that courtroom.
