Chapter 41 : The Right Move

*Trinity's POV*

I stared at the computer screen and realized that I was reading the same sentence for 10 minutes and not understanding a word of it. My mind was elsewhere. I shook my head, hoping to clear it.

It had been a week since I had found out that Matthew was the father of my baby, and yet, it was still on the forefront of my mind. Even now, as I sat at work, trying to get my tasks done. And my swollen eyes weren't helping the matter, as the computer light hurt them even more.

I had cried myself to sleep every night for the last week.

Finding out that the baby was Matthew's had hit me hard. First, because it felt like losing Nate all over again. The baby was supposed to be my way of remembering him, but now that connection was gone. And the second thing was just the fact that the baby's father was Matthew, of all people.

What were the odds?

I questioned everything. Did he know the whole time? Is that why he hired me? Was this all a lie? Why didn't he tell me the truth?
