Chapter 20 : Better Days to Come
*Trinity's POV*
I woke up Thursday in a much better mood and ready to take on the day. Drinks the night before with Amber had helped to relieve some of the stress that was building up ever since I had started the job, and I felt happy for the first time since Nate's death.
Which made me feel guilty. How could I be living my life when Nate wasn't living his because of me? It felt like a dishonor to his memory to be happy again…even if it was just a little.
That brought me back down to reality real fast, and I walked into the office in silence. However, even if I was unsure about feeling happy, I was still not feeling stressed. My steps were a little lighter as I made my way to my desk.
"Hey girl, hey!" Amber called out in a joking tone, causing me to smile for a second before I realized I was trying not to be happy.
"Morning," I said, handing her the coffee that I knew she would need today.
