The First Challenger Part-1

So , after all that drama a few days back . We rested for two days , fully relaxed for the upcoming fights and challenges .

Laila POV:-

It's been a few days since the opening and yesterday was when the first pokemon trainer had come and asked to challenge our gym . But he came so late it was almost 9 pm at night , so I told him to come tomorrow morning at 10 am .

After getting up in the morning I freshened up myself and ate with Grandpa . I also went to the backyard and prepared pokefood for my pokemon. Since , it is 8 am I decided to do few warm up exercises for my first challenge as a gym leader. I did not ask him the number.of gyms badges he won so I let all my pokemon young and old do some light training with me to prepare for the battle.

And so for the last hour we trained , and its time for some rest . The challenger will come at 10 o'clock so we get an hour more to keep our minds clear with out any distractions and focus on the match.

[An hour later : 10 AM]

Challenger POV:-

I heard their was a new gym opening here and I came here . I thought since its a new gym its going to be an easy one and win a badge .

When I came to the town Maiden's Peak , the people were nice and gave me the directions to the gym . Along the way I came across the PokemonCenter so I first entered it and healed my pokemon for getting a better chance to win . I did not have any information on the new gym so I prepared myself and my pokemon to be in their best conditions.

When I reached the gym , there was someone in front , so I called her and asked.

"Hello miss is this the new gym ? "

Turning around to look who it is , the lady sees me and questions

"Who are you?"

"I came here to challenge the gym" I tell her.

"Oh so you are a challenger . I'm the gym leader here Laila Sable. The gym is closed for today , it's so late at night it is almost 9 PM, so why don't you rest for today and we can have a match tomorrow at 10 AM . Have a good night rest so we can battle with all our strength."

"Okay , I'll come tomorrow at 10 AM and also can you tell me the nearest hotel ?" I ask to her.

"Okay , go straight from there and turn right and near a small street you can rest in that hotel, so bye ." She tells me that and went away.

"Right thanks and bye" with that I look for the hotel and went in to booking a room to rest.

The next morning I get ready for the gym battle and ate breakfast in the hotel and went to the gym.

And now standing in front of the gym , I push open the door to win my next badge.

Laila POV:-

Listening to the sound that someone is opening the gyms front door , I reach the front to welcome the challenger.

"Welcome to Maiden's peak gym , Challenger!!!." I greet the man coming into my view.

"Yes , thank you and I would like to challenge the gym." says the man.

"Alright then lets get you registered for the fight then , come on in and take out your pokedex for identification. Now tell me your name and from which place do you come from. " I ask him the basic details for a gym battle registration.

"Okay , my name is Tony and I come from Laramie Village." he answers me.

"Nice and how many gyms badges did you win?" I ask him again , entering the data into the pokedex.

"I won four gym battles this is my fifth gym battle and I also have a full team of six pokemon." With this the registration is done , so I tell him.

"All done! so you ready for the challenge Tony?"

"Yes , I was ready since yesterday!!!." he yells with determination.

"Good, this will be a 4vs4 pokemon battle since you won four badges already , the gyms you challenge from now on will be of intermediate level challenges and after the sixth badge advance level challenges will begin. So , you ready?" I tell him seriously.

"Yes !! I'll definitely win. " he tells me .

"Good , because I like good challenges. Now lets go to the battle field." with that we both enter our positions in the field and get ready. We both consider which pokemon we first want to battle , but as I am the gym leader I have to release my pokemon first 'So , lets see which pokemon should I want to battle first , hhmmm let go with ....'

"Alright I'll go first , come on out Murkrow." I call out my pokemon.

"Murkroooooooooooow" my pokemon cries in the air.

"Whoa whats that pokemon" Tony confused seeing my pokemon and opens his pokedex to see.

As his pokedex scans Murkrow and tells him.

*[Murkrow is an avian Pokémon with black feathers. Its crooked, yellow beak and the three, feathery tufts on its head resemble a witch's nose and hat respectively. The feathery crest is smaller on the female than on the male. It has semi-circular, red eyes with white sclerae and pupils and a spiky collar of feathers around its neck. The shaggy feathers on its tail resemble the end of a broom, and there is a thin, red band at the base of the tail. Its yellow feet have four toes, three facing forward and one backward.

Murkrow has a fondness for anything sparkly, and it will go as far as fighting with other Pokémon, such as Meowth , in order to gain their stashes. Whenever it is chased, it loses the attacker by leading it down dark mountain trails, and sometimes it does this to travelers as a mean spirited prank. Its thieving and nocturnal nature has led it to become representative of misfortune. It is possible to train a Murkrow to repeat words. Murkrow usually live in flocks among forests and swamps.

Murkrow is a Dark/Flying type pokemon and is weak against Rock/Electric/Ice types and is immune to Ground/Psychic type attacks.]*

"Whoa!!! that's a Dark type pokemon , I never saw one." he sees Murkrow with stars in his eyes.

"Yes , as you can see I am a Dark type pokemon gym leader and all the pokemon I use are Dark type so you better be ready." I tell him seriously.

Re-focusing on the match Tony considers his first pokemon "Okay I chose Poliwrath go"

"Poliiiiiwraaaaaaaath" yells his pokemon looking with serious eyes.

My grandpa comes and yells

"This is a official league gym match and will start on my count , are both the Challenger Tony and Gym leader Laila ready ?"

We both confirm "YES!!!"

"Then the match starts in 3"

"1 GO!!!!"

"Since you are the challenger I give you the first chance to make your move." I tell him with a smile.

"And I'll take the chance . Okay buddy you know what to do , use Bubble beam on Murkrow"

"Poliiiiiwraaaaaaaath" poliwrath shouts and releases bubbles on to my pokemon.

"Nice try kid but not enough. Murkrow use 'double team' and then use 'Calm mind' ". with that it raises Murkrow's Sp.atk and Sp.def .

"Murkrooooow" responds Murkrow and splits itself into many copies , and the Bubble beam passes straight through one of its doubles.

"Don't give up buddy use Scald" Poliwrath shoots scalding hot water at every copy of Murkrow.

'Shit if that hits Murkrow he won't be able to fly' Thinking that I tell Murkrow

"Dodge and then use Feint Attack" while Poliwrath is still using Scald Murkrow sneakily approaches him and lands his attack and quickly flies into the sky.

"Poliiiiiwraaaaaaaath" cries Poliwrath painfully.

While Poliwrath is still in pain I tell Murkrow to use Feather Dance.

"No Poliwrath get up and use Dynamic punch quickly!!." Tony commands urgently worrying for his pokemon.

"Oh no you don't !!! Murkrow use Brave bird ! " Murkrow circles in the air and then fire starts to burn around it . And before Poliwrath gets up and uses its attack Murkrow comes in zooming and lands that powerful Brave Bird finishing it as smoke fills the field.

"Noooo Poliwrath." shouts Tony.

As the field clears , we see Poliwrath knocked out with swirls in it's eyes and Murkrow still fly in the sky.

"Good job Murkrow!!" I praise Murkrow for winning his first gym battle.

"Challenger's first pokemon Poliwrath is unable to battle , please switch your pokemon . You still have three chances left" Grandpa informs him.

"Okay Poliwrath return" he returns his pokemon into his pokeball and takes out his second pokemon.

"Rest well poliwrath now go Voltorb" he releases his electric pokemon.

"Now start!!" shouts Grandpa.

"Good choice but it won't matter." I say to him.

"Now Voltrob use Charge beam" yells Tony.

"Intelligent but it has to hit , Murkrow use Tailwind and dodge , then use Drill Peck !!" Murkrow dodges the attack and dives in with its beak in front fast.

"Not this time!! Voltrob use Thunderbolt !!" Tony smirks and tells his pokemon.

'Not again' Thinking again but I was too late Murkrow is already close to Voltrob I can't stop now . Gritting my teeth I continue hoping Murkrow can take one hit.

The Thunderbolt connects Murkrow but his attack also connects Voltrob causing damage to both of them.We both shout

"Murkrow""Voltrob no"

"Murkrooooow""Voooltrooob" they both cry in pain. But since my Murkrow is weak to electric type and also due to charge beam this attack is powered up and did more damage.But with Feather Dance and use of Calm Mind , a tiny bit of damage was reduced and it survived.

"Now Voltrobe while its down finish with Roll Out" yells Tony.

"No Murkrow!! dodge by rolling to the side and use Assurance!! " I shout quickly.

Murkrow quickly dodges to the side and uses Assurance. Since, I took damage earlier the , attack damage doubled with me this attack. And the attack hit the Voltrob which stopped since it's attack missed.

"Voltroooooob" it cries in pain.

"Murkrow quickly finish it with Dark Pulse" while it was still rolling with pain Murkrow attacks again and to hit it with a powerful Dark pulse.

"No Voltron quickly dodge" shouts Tony

Voltrob quickly rolls to side and dodges the attack .

"Voltrob go near it and use Self-destruct" Tony yells since his pokemon is already very much tired he decided to take mine with him.As I tell Murkrow to dodge "Murkrow quickly fly away using Extreme Speed." and suddenly a loud boom resonates in the gym and smoke raises covering all our eyes.
