Chapter 3

"Well I don't know but it could be one of those monsters, the Pokemon" Lylah said, shocking me to my core.

"Of course though you don't have to worry about the pokemon, since it will have been trained by the pokemon trainers. I heard that the pokemon trainers have some of the highest ranks available." Lylah explained.

" Lylah! There you are! What was taking you so long?" My other servant, Gary, came into my room.

" So what are you guys doing?" Gary asked us. "Oh nothing, I was just explaining to young master Art about the pokemon trainers."

"You are? Well why didn't you tell me?! I am an expert on pokemon trainers" Gary said, getting excited.

" Since when?" Lylah asked. "Since always, well anyway young master Art what do you want to know?" Gary asked me.

'Hmm… I should use this to find out more about this time period, since obviously this wasn't mentioned in any pokemon anime so far.' I thought in my head.

" Well I just wanted to know what the pokemon trainers are," I told him, hoping I would get some good information.

" Well… pokemon trainers are very strong people, who are trained in all kinds of fighting methods. They are often required if there is a pokemon attack. They then use their skills to take down the pokemon, and if they are lucky enough they could capture one."

" And if they do manage to capture one, they use up a lot of time trying to tame those beasts. If they are successful, they are used by the Great Kalos empire in any battles. In fact the trainers' skills come in so handy that they are given a very high status in the empire." Gary explained to me.

So from what Gary explained to me, Pokemon are seen as monsters of a sort in this era. And apparently, the pokemon trainers are very important in taming the pokemon, and hence are given a high status.

Hmm… maybe I can become a pokemon trainer, since I have a lot of knowledge about pokemon from games and anime.

" So.. how do people become pokemon trainers?" I ask.
